2016 FIDI Conference Questions & Answers

Registration & Payment

Q: Is it possible to pay by bankwire transfer?

     A: Yes, at the end of your registration you will be asked to submit payment, at the same time you will be given the option to either pay by credit card or by wire transfer. Please select wire transfer, and follow the steps accordingly.

Q: When is the deadline for the Early Bird rate?

     A: The conference registration and hotel reservation early bird rates will end on Sunday 10th January 2016

Q: How much is the registration fee?

     A: 1st participant registration fee, early bird rate is 1,500. Please consult the rates page for full breakdown of all conference registration rates.

Q: Can we bring non-registered associates/partners/spouses to the conference evening events?

     A: No. The only two FIDI Evening events in which a delegate can pay for an extra ticket to bring a non-registered associate to are, the FIDI Welcome Cocktail on Sunday evening and the FIDI Gala Dinner on Wednesday.
You can either register these persons during your registration (and pay as part of your invoice), or you can contact laura.rossignoli@fidi.org to request their particiaption to the event, then receive the invoice.

Q: If a registered delegate is unable to attend, what can I do?

     A: if you or one of your delegates is registered but no longer able to attend, there are two options:
         1) you can send someone in their place. In this case, please modify the registration for the individual no longer able to attend, and simply change their name.
Please note, that additional activities are non-refundable, so the replacement delegate would be registered to these activities as well.

          2) Cancel the registration completely. Depending on when you cancel and the cancellation policy at the time, you may be entitled to a refund.

Q: What is the Cancellation Policy?

     A: The below table outlines the 2016 FIDI Conference cancelation refund policy.

Until 1st February 2016 inclusive

70% refund

From Tuesday 2nd February 2016 until Monday 8th March 2016 inclusive

50% refund

As from Tuesday 9th March 2016

0% refund



Q: I did not have a profile photo at the time of registration, and therefore uploaded any image I had at hand. How can I change my photo, to the correct one of me?

     A: You can either send your profile photo as an attachment to Conference@fidi.org ensuring your name is mentioned somewhere. Or you can go in and modify your registration, and change your photo. To modify your registration, you need to go onto the conference website home page, click modify and enter your email address (which you used to register) and your reference number, given, once registered.

Q: I want to modify/check my registration, but I cannot find my reference code?

     A: Please contact Conference@fidi.org, requesting your reference code.

FIDI 39 Club Membership and Attendance Participation

Q: I am interested in joining the FIDI 39 Club, how can I do this?

     A: This is great, you can join by sending an email request to Lydia.Cope@fidi.org, stating you would like to join the FIDI 39 Club.

Q: I would like to join the FIDI 39 Club, and their activities during the FIDI Conference, do I need to wait till I am an official FIDI 39 Club member, before I register to the conference?

     A: No, if you are planning and confirm to join the FIDI 39 Club, then you can go ahead with your conference registration, selecting the FIDI 39 Club participant option. Lydia Cope, FIDI Customer Relations Officer, will then email you for some details, and with the member ship invoice.

Q: What is included in the FIDI 39 Club Conference registration fee?

     A: The following activities are included in the FIDI 39 Club conference registration:
                                     - FIDI 39 Club Roll Call & Welcome Drink on Saturday evening;
                                     -
FIDI 39 Club Conference (1 day) on Sunday - with keynote speaker;
                                     - Morning Coffee Break & Lunch during the conference on Sunday;
                                     - Group Photo following the lunch;
                                     - FIDI 39 Club Party on Tuesday evening.

         The FIDI 39 Club Sporting activity which takes place on the Saturday afternoon (before the conference starts), is not included in the FIDI 39 Club conference registration. Should you wish to attend this activity, you will need to select it separately when registering, and pay accordingly.

Visa Letters

Q: How can I get a Visa Letter?

     A: For a visa letter please contact Conference@FIDI.org, requesting an Invitation Visa Letter. Please ensure to include the following information in your email request:
                                           Full Name as stated in passport;
                                           Legal Company Name (Not FIDI Company Name);
                                           Passport Number;
                                           City, Country (you reside in).

Q: Where can I find out if I need a visa to enter Switzerland?

     A: You can find all information regarding visa's on the Visa Page

Conference Accommodation

Q: Where will the 2016 Geneva Conference take place?

     A: The 2016 FIDI Geneva Conference will be held at the InterContinental Geneva Hotel. Please see the accommodation page for all details on the hotel, and how to reserve your room.

Q: How to book my room at the Intercontinental?

     A: You can book your hotel accommodation, using the link given on the accommodation page. Click on the link, and it will take you to the customized reservation page for FIDI Delegates booking at the FIDI Conference hotel, InterContinental Geneva Hotel. Click on make a reservation, and complete the fields as necessary.

Q: What is the cancellation policy for the InterContinental Geneva Hotel, the FIDI Conference hotel?

     A: The early bird hotel rate cut-off date is 10th January 2016, after this date, the early bird rate will no longer be available and rooms will be sold at the negotiated regular rate.

The cut-off date to make any reservations, cancellations or changes at the InterContinental Geneva hotel is 10th March 2016, upon availability of FIDI’s room block. After that date, the hotel cannot guarantee any additional requests/bookings.
Requests will be handled on a first come, first serve basis.

The following cancellation policy will apply for all bookings under the FIDI room block, at the InterContinental Geneva Hotel, the main FIDI Conference hotel:

  • As of the 11th March 2016, all cancelled rooms, no shows and early departures will be subject to a cancelation fee of 100% of the contracted rate per room, per night, for all room nights cancelled. 

Affiliate Meeting Room Rental

Q: Can Delegates book a meeting room at the conference hotel?

     A: Yes, all delegates are welcome and able to book a meeting room at the conference hotel, to hold their own private meetings (on a first come first serve basis).

Q: How can I book a meeting room?

     A: If you are interested in booking a meeting room, please contact the FIDI Events Team at Conference@fidi.org

Q: How much is it to book a meeting room?

     A: When booking a meeting room, you have two options
          1) Half day booking at 250EUR
          2) Full day booking at 500EUR
