FIDI 65th Annual Conference Geneva

FIDI 39 Club Sporting Activity - Curling

The local Geneva Curling Hall will open exceptionally its curling tracks for the FIDI 39 Club! After a short briefing with the experts of the Geneva Curling Club, the group will be divided into smaller groups of 8 for a training session. The curling initiation will be followed by official matches where the participants will experience the technical challenges of this sport: an original and interactive activity representative of Switzerland.

Curling is a sport where players slide stones across a sheet of ice towards a target area, which is segmented into four concentric circles. Usually two teams compete against each other, each player taking turns in sliding the heavy, polished granite stones (also known as rocks) across the ice to reach the target. The idea of the game is to accumulate the highest score - points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the target. After the curler has thrown his rock, the rocks path can be further influenced by two sweepers with brooms who accompany the rock as it slides down the sheet of ice. using the brooms to alter the state of the ice in front of the stone.

Curling is a strategic, team game, and is ideal for creating a great and enjoyable networking environment with your peers. An activity that will get your strategic mind thinking, and your team work shining.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity, and book your participation now.

The Geneva Curling Hall is approximately 25 mins from the InterContinental Geneva Hotel (main conference hotel). All participants will be taken to the venue in a bus, and will return on the bus as well.
