The day will feature Keynote Speaker J. Stephen Morrison, PhD, senior vice president at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and director of its Global Health Policy Center, who has served as an expert in global health policy for several decades within the Clinton administration, USAID, and during the second Obama term. Morrison will then moderate a panel of exceptional leaders who will speak to their personal triumphs and struggles in navigating the political landscape of global health followed by a debate of a current dilemma facing the global health community. Guest speakers include Nelson Sewankambo, past Principal of Makerere University College of Health Sciences in Uganda; Michele Barry, Director of Center for Innovation in Global Health at Stanford University; and Judith Wasserheit, Chair of the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington. Several small breakout sessions with leaders in global health policy will then grant students the opportunity to interact directly with peers as well as experts in the field.
