This session is the result of the collaboration between the Education Sub-committee on Undergraduate and Masters Degrees in Global Health, Child Family Health International, NAFSA (Association of International Educators), GlobalSL, Harvard Global Health Institute and others.
This workshop will combine the expertise within the fields of international education (study abroad) and global health education to present and allow attendees to explore the application of pedagogies (including service-learning, developmental models of intercultural sensitivity, global perspectives evaluation methods and more) and guidelines (such as those backed by the Department of Justice through the Forum on Education Abroad, Duarte's 6 Standards of Practice in Global Service-Learning, Fair Trade Learning, and others), as well as safe/security/risk management best practices that have been refined over the past decades within the fields of study abroad.
