PATIENT INCLUDED STATUS
Clause 1. Patients or caregivers with experience relevant to the conference’s central theme actively participate in the design and planning of the event, including the selection of themes, topics and speakers.
Consumer representatives form part of the membership of the Program Committee. The Program Committee is responsible for the design and planning of the event, including the selection of themes, topics and speakers.
Clause 2. Patients or caregivers with experience of the issues addressed by the event participate in its delivery, and appear in its physical audience.
Consumers are invited to provide abstracts, facilitate workshops and present. Key note speakers include a consumer. A consumer panel is also included within the plenary sessions. Consumers from both NSW and interstate are invited and funded to attend the Symposium.
Clause 3. Travel and accommodation expenses for patients or carers participating in the advertised programme are paid in full, in advance. Scholarships are provided by the conference organisers to allow patients or carers affected by the relevant issues to attend as delegates.
The registration cost for all NSW consumers is covered as well as the travel expenses of a number of nominated NSW rural and regional consumers. Clause 4. The disability requirements of participants are accommodated. All applicable sessions, breakouts, ancillary meetings, and other programme elements are open to patient delegates.
Disability access requirements are included in the floor plan and final venue plan for the Symposium.
Clause 5. Access for virtual participants is facilitated, with free streaming video provided online wherever possible.
The Symposium is available by free live streaming over the two day Symposium and plenary sessions are recorded and available online after the event.
