David Pitt-Watson

David Pitt-Watson is a leading thinker and practitioner in the field of responsible investment and business practice. He is the co-author of What They Do With Your Money, published by Yale University, in June 2016, which describes some of the fundamental problems of the finance industry, and how best they might be addressed.

Currently an Executive Fellow at the London Business School, David was Chair of Hermes Focus Funds, and a former board member of Hermes Fund Managers. As co-founder, and former CEO of the Focus Funds and Equity Ownership Service, he built and led the largest responsible investment group of any institutional fund manager in the world.

He has been co-chair of the UN Environment Finance Initiative, and a director of the International Corporate Governance Network.

Formerly a pension trustee, he now chairs the endowment fund at NESTA. He is also an independent non-executive at KPMG and Treasurer of Oxfam.
