Claire Altman, client director, Capital Cranfield

Claire is a professional independent trustee with Capital Cranfield. She chairs trustee boards (DB and DC) as well as being an IGC member. Recent highlights include agreeing an all-risks buy-out for a scheme subject to covenant stress and chairing a DC master trust established in December 2014 which has recently achieved an unqualified audit under Part 1 of the Master Trust Assurance Framework and now has 12,000+ employers.

She has a legal background. After a law degree at Cambridge, she qualified as a barrister before moving into the City. She joined Sacker & Partners, a law firm specialising in pensions and became a partner there in 2007.

Through her 17 years of involvement in pensions she has worked with big and small schemes across the spectrum and loves the challenges that working with pensions continues to present.
