Community
Studying martial arts at USTMA requires more than physical fitness. The Academy teaches that one of the fundamental tenets of taekwondo is the ability to give back to the community and serve as leaders and contributors to the greater good of our local towns, state, country and world.
Grandmaster Choi teaches the value of civic leadership by himself, serving as a leader in the Leesburg community, Virginia State Taekwondo Association and through international activities that seek to reunite North and South Korea. Grandmaster Choi teaches that community is everywhere and that each black belt class, each team, and each location of USTMA understands the meaning of unity.
The USTMA community is broad and includes our four locations, our connections and participation in USA Taekwondo, the World Taekwondo Federation, and in supporting our sister school in Samcheok City, Korea.
