Dr. Theresa Brodrick is the Regional Chief Nursing officer & V.P. of Clinical Integration for the Northern California Region of Kaiser Permanente, which is comprised of 21 healthcare facilities. With 30 years of nursing leadership experience, Dr. Brodrick is recognized as a strong advocate for clinicians and has a passion for nursing education and research, implementing a wide variety of initiatives to promote professional growth and development for nursing. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Deleware, master’s degree and post-master’s certificate in nursing from Villanova University, and a doctorate in health care administration from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is also a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellow from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Brodrick also holds a certification in Nursing Administration. She has served as part time faculty and clinical associate for Villanova University in Villanova PA teaching graduate level Case Management and precepting graduate nursing administration students in different clinical settings. She is also adjunct faculty at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a clinical advisor at Duke University and the University of Alabama. Her list of professional affiliations is long and varied, her publications include book chapters and presentations, and she has been active in nursing research since 1987. Her dissertation was titled “Executive Women in Healthcare: Perceptions of the Executive Coaching Process’. She is a NC’s Great 100 recipient and is also a certified executive coach.
Dr. Brodrick has been married to her husband, Ron for 30 years and has two wonderful children. When she is not working she enjoys reading, being outdoors, gardening, and watching the Philadelphia Phillies.

In close partnership with The Permanente Federation, The Permanente Medical Groups, and our Kaiser Permanente regions, Patti oversees programs that support the development and implementation of the national Medicare Clinical Care Delivery Strategy and our members' total health. Patti also oversees National Patient Care Services and National Transplant Services.
Patti has been an employee of Kaiser Permanente since 1997 and was previously the senior vice president, Quality and Risk Management, Patient Care Services, and Clinical Operation Support, in Kaiser Permanente Southern California. In that role, she directed the programs, policies, and procedures that ensured high-quality patient care and safety to the 3 million Kaiser Permanente members in Southern California. Patti also has a long history of partnering with The Permanente Medical Groups to advance the quality of care delivery.
Patti holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from West Texas A&M University and a master's degree in public health with a health services management concentration from the University of California, Los Angeles. Patti completed post-graduate executive leadership course work at the University of North Carolina and at Northwestern University's Kellogg Management School. Patti has been certified as a health care insurance executive by America's Health Insurance Plans. She also completed Patient Safety Officer training and Intermountain Healthcare's Advanced Training Program.

In his role as Vice President for Regional Patient Care Services, Dr. Spicer provides strategic leadership to drive “Best Hospital” initiatives across the Southern California and Hawai’i regions of Kaiser Permanente. Working collaboratively with the 15 medical center Nurse Executives, he and his team ensure consistency of operational systems and processes. In order to maximize the quality and safety of patient care as well as meet the clinical and financial goals of Kaiser Permanente Health Plan/Hospitals, he leverages expertise in professional practice, health care delivery, workforce policy, program evaluation, and health services research.
Dr. Spicer is the former vice president for Patient Services and chief nursing officer for the Colorado-based St. Mary's Hospital & Medical Center where he was oversaw all aspects of the delivery of clinical services to patients. He joined St. Mary’s in 1999 as director of Emergency Services. A year later, he assumed the role of administrative director of Patient Services and in 2003 he was promoted to vice president and chief nursing officer.
Prior to joining St. Mary's, he served as assistant administrator for the Corpus Christi Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A graduate of St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing, Dr. Spicer continued his education receiving a bachelor’s in nursing from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois and a master’s in public administration with an emphasis on health care from Texas A&M University. He completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus in Executive Leadership from American Sentinel University in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Spicer’s doctoral research examined the perceived importance of Nurse Executive competencies on Chief Nurse turnover.
Dr. Spicer is active in professional organizations and boards at the local, state and national levels. He is a past-president of the Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders, a past chair of the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence Board of Directors, representative to the Strategic Planning Committee for the American Organization of Nurse Executives, a member of both the American Nurses Association and the Association of California Nurse Leaders, and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
In 2006, he received the Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders "Circle of Excellence" award, and is an alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellowship program.
