What is a 2-page summary paper submission?
In the context of the CPEM 2016 conference, a 2-page summary paper is an exhaustive description that summarizes in a maximum of two pages the essential information of a research project.
May I submit a 2-page summary paper to the conference?
CPEM 2016 welcomes the submission of 2-page summary papers for original contributions to the fields described on the conference
website. The submission period is from November 4, 2015 to January 8, 2016 – 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time). During this time period, 2-page summary papers will be accepted through the online submission form available on the
submission website.

When is the submission deadline for 2-page summary papers?
The final deadline to submit the 2-page summary paper is
January 8 extended to January 15, 2016 – 11:59 p.m. EST (Eastern Standard Time).
My project is still ongoing and there are no results yet. Should I still submit a 2-page summary paper?
2-page summary papers are intended to present the results of research projects. If you are describing a study that is still in the planning stage, it will not be suitable for a 2-page summary paper submission. However, if your study is currently ongoing and you have preliminary data that seem relevant or significant, please submit the 2-page summary paper.
What is the required structure for a 2-page summary paper?
A complete submission consists of a title, keywords, author list, abstract text and the 2-page summary paper based on the official Word template available
here (last updated November 4, 2015) or LaTeX template available
here (last updated December 16, 2015). You can include figures, tables, and references in the 2-page summary paper. Additional instructions may be found in the templates.
How do I submit a 2-page summary paper?
Before submitting a 2-page summary paper, you are asked to create a profile.
To submit a 2-page summary paper, please login into your conference profile and click on the "New Submission" button in the Overview page.
In the submission system, please follow the steps to create and submit your 2-page summary paper:
- Select the speaker type, the topic, the presentation type
- Enter the presenting author and/or submitting authors
- Indicate the authors and co-authors with their affiliations
- Indicate your title, abstract description, keywords, and upload your 2-page summary paper
- Preview your submission and check format and correctness
- Submit your 2-page summary paper.
To navigate the submission system, please use the "proceed/submit" button. For detailed instructions about the submission fields, use the question marks or links next to each field when applicable.
After a submission has been created, modifications can be made at any time until the submission deadline. After submission, the submitter will receive a confirmation email. This email will contain the submission reference number. Please refer to this reference number in all communications.
Once I submitted a 2-page summary paper, can I still modify my submission?
After a 2-page summary paper has been created through the online submission system, modifications can be made (even after submission) until the deadline. After making your modifications, you need to submit your 2-page summary paper. No modifications will be accepted after the submission deadline.
How should I define the title of my 2-page summary paper?
A good 2-page summary paper title is short, specific, representative and informative. It helps the reviewers categorize your 2-page summary paper, and if accepted, it may help conference delegates find your session. The title should summarize your 2-page summary paper without going into excessive details. Describe the topic clearly, including, for example, the purpose or theme of the research.
Can I include a figure or table in my 2-page summary paper?
It is possible, but not mandatory, to include figures or tables in the 2-page summary paper. The number of figures to be included is not limited, but these will count toward the two-page limit. These will not count toward the word limit. Please insert your figures or tables following the instructions in the 2-page summary paper template.
How many co-authors can I include in the list of authors?
You may include up to 15 co-authors per submission, and up to 10 affiliations. A person can be listed as a co-author if he/she meets ALL the following criteria:
- made substantial contributions to concept and design, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data,
- drafted the 2-page summary paper or revised it,
- approved the final version to be submitted.
How can I submit more than one (1) submission?
The number of 2-page summary paper submissions is unlimited. You may create new submissions from your overview page once logged in, each submission will be numbered with a unique identifier number which we kindly ask you to state in any correspondence.
Who selects the 2-page summary papers and decides how they will be presented?
All submitted 2-page summary papers will go through a peer-review process carried out by an international review committee called the Technical Program Committee. Each 2-page summary paper will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. The Technical Program Committee makes the final selection of 2-page summary papers to be included in the Conference Digest.
The highest-scoring 2-page summary papers will be selected for presentation in oral sessions. The majority of the posters will be displayed in the Poster Sessions.
How can I increase the chances of my submission being accepted?
The methodology or study design presented in your 2-page summary paper should be appropriate to address the purpose and objectives. Results should be clearly presented and support the conclusions. In addition, the findings should contribute to the advancement of knowledge and development of the field.
If English is not your native language we strongly recommend that you have your 2-page summary paper reviewed by a native English speaker working in your field before submission.
When will I be notified if my submission has been accepted?
Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the submitting (corresponding) author by mid-March 2016.
I need a certificate that my 2-page summary paper was accepted for the conference. Who do I contact?

Is a copyright form needed with this submission?
A signed IEEE copyright form is required for each 2-page summary paper.
It can be uploaded (in a separate file) when the 2-page summary paper is

Will there be a Conference Digest for CPEM 2016?
An electronic Conference Digest will be available free of charge at the conference. A printed version of the Conference Digest book will not be produced for CPEM 2016.
Where will my 2-page summary paper be published?
If accepted, your 2-page summary paper will be published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Also, the title and/abstract may be published on the CPEM 2016 conference website, the conference program and other conference materials.
