Yaron is a Product Manager in Nokia’s CloudBand Business Unit, he is responsible for CloudBand Infrastructure Software (CBIS) that is part of the CloudBand NFV platform. His role includes collecting requirements from customers and VNF vendors and translating them into features in CBIS, turning it into an optimized solution from software and hardware aspects. Yaron has more than 15 years of experience in the Telco and Networking industry, working with Tier 1 customers across the globe. Yaron’s past positions as a Solution Architect and a Network Architects team leader give him the knowledge and understanding of service providers needs from NFV platforms.
 
Mustapha Aissaoui

Mustapha Aissaoui is a Product Manager in the Service Router Product Group of the IP/Optical Networks at Nokia. He holds an Electrical Engineering Diploma from Polytechnic School of Algiers and a MASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa. Mustapha Aissaoui is an active participant of the IETF PWE3, L2VPN, MPLS, PCE, and SPRING working groups. He is a co-author and a major contributor to many drafts in these working groups.

Muhammad Asif is a Product Line Manager for IP & Nuage Professional Services. Mr. Asif has an experience of more than fifteen years in software development and system architect design for web based network management systems. Mr. Asif holds a Ph.D. degree from Carleton University (Canada) in computer systems and networks. Mr. Asif is leading a workshop “IP-LTE Monitoring and troubleshooting” along with Reza Rokui and Stephen Strong. The workshop will focus on discussing the available tools for monitoring and troubleshooting the IP based RAN/LTE network.

Thierry Bassani

Thierry Bassani is forty-six and has been working in the IP networking sector for the last twenty-two years. After graduating as an Engineer in electricity at EPFL in 1993, he started his career in 1994 at the Swiss Federal Office of Informatics and Telecommunications as an IP Engineer. Between 1999 and 2001, he worked for Ascom in pre-sales engineering. In August 2001 he moved to Swiss Railways in the business unit Telecommunication first as Plattform Manager responsible for the Life Cycle of the former Nortel WAN network. Then, in 2005, he became a Senior IP Engineer where he took the lead for the design of the actual Cisco IP network. From 2010 to 2015 he was a Team Leader Engineering for data networks and in February 2016 became a Lead Engineer of data networks where he is presently focusing on the Datacom-NG project.
 
Andres Belloni

Andres Belloni leads Platform and Common Applications Product Management for Nokia 5620 SAM. In this role Andres is responsible for defining and managing the lifecycle of 5620 SAM’s software foundation and network management applications that allow service providers to efficiently manage IP, Optical and next generation SDN/NFV networks. Mr. Belloni has an extensive career in telecommunications specializing in network and service management for TDM, ATM, IP and Optical networks. He has been responsible for product design, product strategy and product line management of Element, Network and Service Management Systems in Newbridge Networks and Alcatel-Lucent. Mr. Belloni holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University Of Buenos Aires, Argentina and an Executive MBA from Queens University in Canada.

Nigel Bennett

Nigel is responsible for regional product line management for the 5620 SAM in the EMEA region. Nigel has spent the last 20 years in network management starting out with Newbridge Networks before becoming Alcatel, Alcatel-Lucent and now Nokia. He has been involved with the 5620 SAM since its early days and has been responsible for promoting and championing the 5620 SAM in the EMEA region. Prior to this Nigel worked for Mitel Telecom, again working on network management products. Nigel started his communications career in the Royal Air Force working on a number of communications and RADAR systems around the world.

His research involves power system protection, fault current limitation, communications, power quality, and real-time simulation.

Jon Harald Bovre is an experienced electronic engineer and has worked with many different projects related to oil/gas, ship automation/simulation and ship surveillance. For many years he has been working with computer networks from different vendors, at different service providers and industrial environment. A few projects he has been involved in are: LAN/WAN at different harbour authorities in Singapore, Dover, Dubai, service provider upgrade from ATM to MPLS, several projects involving IPv6 implementation, and he has also worked with networks in different utility providers.

Carsten joined the regional PLM team for 5620 SAM in EMEA in September 2016. He is concentrating on the general IP management part of SAM, on the SAM platform, and on SAM managing the Evolved Packet Core. Before, Carsten had been working for 6 years in the Global PLM team on the topics of Linux introduction, virtualization and supporting the Wireless Management PLM team. Carsten is with the company since 1985 in various roles in R&D and PLM. He is located in Germany.
 
James Cumming

James Cumming is the Product Line Manager for Virtualisation and the Virtualised Service Router (VSR) within Nokia’s IP and Optical Networks Division. He has an extensive background in the Internet Service Provider industry beginning in 1997. He has worked as the lead Network Architect in a number of global service providers leading the efforts in network integration, product and service development as well as end-to-end network architecture across all technologies. He has a particular passion for the virtualisation area as his background combines networking, systems and operations which all collide in this exciting period for the industry. He holds a B.Sc. Hons. degree in Computer Science from the University of Kent. James is based in London, England.
 
Rafa De Fermin

Rafael de Fermín joined Alcatel in 1993. Since then, he has been involved in several responsibilities in the company, while living in the UK, the US, Belgium and Spain. In August 2013, he was appointed to lead the IP Routing and Transport Division in EMEA, and as such is in charge of all Alcatel-Lucent’s IP and Optics business in the region. Prior to this position, Rafael led the Global Customer Delivery and Presales teams for the same regional scope. Before that, Rafael spent five years working for the Access Business Division in Alcatel, in charge of the Regional Support Centres for different geographies (including Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Latin America). He held pre- and post-sales responsibilities for the Division in those geographies. His earlier jobs with Alcatel include General Management of the Fixed Networks Division for Iberia, and several positions in R&D and PLM, within the Access Products Division.
 
Bruno De Troch

Bruno has over 20 years of experience in the telecom industry and joined the Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia) Product Line Management team in EMEA in April 2014. His focus is on Service Provider core, edge and aggregation networks and solutions. Prior to his current role he was a Technical Lead at Juniper Networks for 14 years, providing guidance to carriers and large enterprises on how to deploy and optimize their IP/MPLS and Carrier Ethernet networks. He holds an MSc in Telecommunications from the Military Academy in Brussels and made it to Captain in charge of the Belgian Armed Forces’ country-wide data network before leaving and joining BT Belgium as a Design Engineer. He is based in Antwerp, Belgium.
 
Bram De Valck

Bram De Valck develops business for the Nokia IP Routing division, focussed on Critical Infrastructure Networks (Utilities, Transportation, Defense, Government, Oil&Gas...). He is accountable for the benelux customers within the EMEA region where his team is operational. In this role Bram’s technical, communication and business skills help him evangelising industry customers to deploy their mission critical network using the Nokia IP/MPLS platforms. His technical knowhow and +7 years of experience in network design and protocols helps architecting green field or migration scenarios. His first job within Alcatel-Lucent as a IP Network Design Engineer, designing and validating IP network solutions, gave him a deep technical understanding of network technologies and architectures which he relies on to formulate his advice and guidance. Bram holds a Master degree of Engineering in Telecommunications (graduated at University of Ghent).

He is recognized as Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) in 2010 for his sustained outstanding technical contribution to Alcatel-Lucent by Bell Labs. For this, he interworks with Nokia technical sales as well as technical experts in leading EMEA service providers. Currently based in Antwerp, Belgium, Ziggy has more than 17 years of experience working on Enterprise and Provider IP/MPLS networks throughout the world. He has been part of the Alcatel-Lucent¹s IP Division for the last 13 years in a consulting and new product introduction role. Prior to that, he held positions as integration engineer building up experience with a variety of IP products and vendors. Ziggy has a master degree in Electronics and is CCIE (#16110) and Alcatel-Lucent SRA (#15) certified.

Diego Garcia del Rio is a Senior Product Manager at Nuage Networks. He is in charge of defining the datapath features for the VRS, the BGP control plane and the hardware strategy within the Nuage VSP (Virtual Services Platform) and is involved with overall definition of Alcatel-Lucent IP Division’s cloud solution and strategy. He is deeply involved in pushing Nuage forward in both the XLE space as well as its colocation use-cases where “classic” service providers are benefiting from the flexibility of VSP to provide new and more dynamic services. He Joined Alcatel in 2004 and has been involved with IP and mobile networking ever since. His past roles include working within the Network Design and Engineering teams in EMEA and CALA, supporting and designing multiple network solutions for customers, encompassing from the first mobile backhaul deployment of 7705 in EMEA to a Triple Play network in Italy. In 2009 he joined the IP division’s product management team in Mountain View, California in a dual role as consulting engineer and product management. In early 2012 he joined the Nuage team, as its first member of the Product management team, to which he brings his experience with cloud providers and virtualization technologies. Diego holds a Electrical Engineering degree from ITBA (Buenos Aires Institute of Techonology).

Michael Kloecker

Michael Klöcker is working in the Global Railway Solution team as part of the Global Enterprise and Public Sector Business Unit and is responsible for strategic positioning of the current GSM-R solutions as well as for future evolution of the railway communication systems. In his role he closely interacts with the customers around the globe to identify requirements, analyses the market needs and strongly interacts with the Nokia product business lines on product and solution definition and further evolution. Additionally, he is representing Nokia in relevant ERA and UIC bodies and conferences, with special focus on the standardization of the next generation railway telecommunication system. He has been developed his knowledge on communication technologies starting with R&D activities in the early 90’ within Siemens, continuing with various roles in product and solution management for mobile networks. Karyn Lennon leads the Learning Services function for Nokia’s IP/Optical Networks Business Group.  In her role, Karyn is responsible for setting the strategic direction and development of Nokia’s Optical educational services which includes the Nokia Optical Networks Certification Program.  In addition to the Optical program, Karyn directs both Nokia’s flagship IP/MPLS certification program, the Service Routing Certification (SRC) Program which has over 14,000 individuals participating globally and the Nuage Networks Virtuoso Certification Program (NN-VCP). Prior to her role in Learning Services, Karyn held various PLM and Marketing positions at Newbridge Networks and Alcatel-Lucent. Karyn received her Bachelor of Commerce from  McGill University and holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa.
 
Benoit Leridon

Benoit Leridon is a regional IPR Business Development Manager at Nokia, responsible for Transport, Energy and public sector in EMEA. In his role he is deeply involved in customer projects in the pre-sales phase, to understand customer applications and requirements in order to define the proper solution for the evolution of their network infrastructures. Benoit has 25 years of telecom pre-sales background covering enterprise and carrier markets for data, and voice solutions, and has joined Alcatel-Lucent in 2010 after holding different pre-sales management positions in companies such as Wellfleet, Bay Networks and Nortel.
 
Samuel Liu

Dr. Samuel Liu is a Director of Product Line Management in Nokia, IP and Optical Networks Business Group, working on optics and IPoDWDM strategy/roadmap across all router product families as well as managing a router platform. Previously, he was a Director of Product Line Management in Juniper Networks, pioneered 100G coherent packet optical products for core and edge routers. Dr. Liu was also responsible for a new core router product platform in Juniper. He has been working in Networking/Telecom industry for 20 years. Before Juniper, Dr. Liu held different product line management, product marketing, product planning, engineering management and system architect positions at Huawei USA, Tellabs and several packet optical start-up companies. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology. He received his B.S. in optoelectronics engineering at Zhejiang University in China. Additionally, he held several US patents and is a frequent panel speaker in the industry. He served as the organizer for OFC Service Provider Summit and Market Watch between 2010 and 2015.
 
Slav Lvin

Slav joined the ATM division of Alcatel (then Newbridge) in 1997, with focus on QoS and ATM. Since then he held several positions in Design and PLM with a focus in protocol implementation and Network Management. Four yeas ago Slav moved to California and joined Nuage team first as VSAP designer, then VSAP PLM. He holds a McS in Physics from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia and is holder of several telecom patents. He has been a speaker at numerous conferences on topics like Cloud Computing and Data Centers and is author of publications on these topics.

I spent 22 yrs in the Canadian Military as a communications technician. Retired in May 2000 and joined Newbridge which was bought by Alcatel. I started instructing the 7750 SR from release 1. I currently hold Service Router Architect certification #19 and Nuage Networks Data Center Professional certification #1. I spent 14 years in the ALU University and now I’m currently employed in the Service Router Certification group.
 
Andreas Maeder

Dr. Andreas Maeder is a Senior Radio Researcher in NOKIA Bell Labs with 15 years of experience in research and standardization. Currently, he is leading 5G RAN Architecture standardization and related research for 3GPP in NOKIA Bell Labs. Andreas received his Ph.D. in 2008 from the University of Wuerzburg, Germany. From 2008 to 2015, Dr. Maeder was affiliated with NEC Laboratories Europe, where he was working on next generation mobile networks, including air interface design for IEEE 802.16m and LTE-Advanced, and system architecture, virtualization, and cloudification of mobile network end-to-end functional components. Dr. Maeder contributed to the standardization of IEEE 802.16m on WirelessMAN-Advanced and IEEE 802.16p on M2M communications, to 3GPP RAN groups, and to the 3GPP System Architecture working group. He is author of numerous standard contributions, conference papers, journal articles, book chapters and patents.
 
Simeone Mastropietro

After graduating with laude in Electronic Engineering in 2000, he worked 6 months for Co.Ri.Tel (Consorzio di Ricerca sulle Telecomunicazioni) in the European Aquila Project. At the end of 2000 he joined TIM, formerly Telecom Italia, as Network Engineer within the IP Core department, becoming focal point for routing, traffic-engineering and transport of voice and mobile services. In 2012 he took the responsibility for the IP Core testing activities and in 2014 he became the PM for NGCN (Next Generation Core Network). He had also several collaborations with TIM abroad subsidiaries, both in Europe and South America.
