Poster Presenter Guidelines
Registration
As either an accepted poster or oral presentation you are required to register to attend the conference. If you have not done so already, please see the Registration section.
If you are only planning to attend one day of the conference please inform us via emailing events@rheumatology.org.uk
Poster board size
Your poster must be made to fit within the specifications below:
A0 paper size (minimum) PORTRAIT
Poster board size 1.95m (H) x 0.95m (W) (maximum) PORTRAIT
Preparing your poster
- Please use a clear typeface, we recommend size 12 minimum
- Please ensure the poster is readable from 2-3 metres away
- Ensure that the title, author and funding source are clear
- Keep the poster focused on the topic
Include:
- Statement of problem addressed by project or research/evaluation question
- Selected graphic depictions of data, participants or before/after program effects
- Clear source of information
- Logical flow of information
- Explicit implications or lessons
Your poster can be material or paper, either is acceptable. When you arrive in Birmingham please go to the registration desk. There will be a list with your name and poster number which the staff on the desk will use to tell you where to hang your poster. After securing your poster to your board with velcro, please take your poster container to the cloakroom. If you have handouts with you they can also be pinned to your board, they cannot be left on the floor. BSR cannot provide pins for this so please do bring your own if needed.
Poster number and set-up
A number identifying each poster board will be provided at the conference. Poster set-up can take place between 08:30 and 11:00 on Thursday 15th October, or Friday 16th if you are only attending the second day. There is no poster hanging service at this conference, so please note that you will be responsible for hanging and taking down your own poster.
Presenters are asked to bring sufficient Velcro with them for fixing their posters to the poster board.
Poster viewing
Posters will be on display both days of the conference, from Thursday 15 October 09:00 to Friday 16 October 16:30.
On Thursday 15th October, 11.15 - 11.40,
we ask that all
presenters with posters on Metabolic bone
disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis and
Spondyloarthritis stand by their work during this time. It will be
advertised in the programme that delegates can speak to you about your poster.
On Friday 16th October, 12.45 – 13:05,
we ask that all
presenters with posters on Systemic lupus
erythematosus and Sjogren’s syndrome
stand by their work during this time. It will be advertised in the programme
that delegates can speak to you about your poster.
Poster dismantle
Please dismantle your poster between 14.40 and 15.20 on Friday 16 October. It will not be possible to enter the exhibition area after this time.
Any posters that have not been removed by this time will be disposed of. BSR cannot accept responsibility in the event that posters go missing.
Please note:
For health and safety reasons the poster display area must be kept free of clutter. As such, the following items cannot be left on the floor near your poster board:
- Poster containers/tubes - these must be checked into the cloakroom on arrival
- Handouts - There will not be an allocated space for handouts to be displayed. If you would like to pin any handouts beside your poster on the poster board please bring the pins with you.
