Bars and pubs

Birmingham is full of excellent bars and pubs to choose from. We have included a list with a few examples below, for more information on dining please go to the Visit Birmingham website. Alternatively, you can get in contact with their team for assistance. 


Brindleyplace  

Tree-lined squares and canalside cool draw people to the stylish bars of Brindleyplace.  A visit to Cielo is a must for al fresco dining overlooking the picturesque Oozells Square.

Nuvo has quickly gained a reputation for producing quality cocktails and creating a relaxed atmosphere in which to imbibe them. Their Lounge and Cocktail Bar is on the ground floor and offers exquisite surroundings where their waiters and hosts aim to provide second to none service.


The Mailbox

The Mailbox is a hub of sparkling, buzzing nightlife. Chill with music and drinks at Bar Room Bar or Pennyblacks. Or head to Malmaison, nicknamed 'The Champagne Bar of Birmingham' for a great glass of fizz. 


Broad Street

Jump from one pulsating bar to the next on Broad Street which acts as a magnet for party-goers from Birmingham and beyond.

Trek into Aussie-bar Walkabout for the best food and drink this side of the big red rock.

Or for a whole night out in one venue try Bar Risa in the heart of Broad Street which also incorporates the Highlight club, the world’s largest comedy chain.

How about a little Black Jack at the Grosvenor Casino? For something a little different, the casino offers great food, late bars, quality entertainment and the best gaming.

The Gentleman & Scholar at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham is a sophisticated but welcoming pub styled on a traditional tavern with a contemporary twist.

With a selection of exquisite cocktails, fine wines, champagnes, beers and local ales, The Gentleman & Scholar provides the perfect place to enjoy a drink before a night out, a pre-theatre beverage or a relaxed glass after dinner.


Bitters 'n Twisted

Bitters ‘n Twisted venues are an independent, Birmingham-based collective of five highly-original venues.

Bodega is a contemporary South American inspired cantina, located in the heart of the city centre, with flavoursome South American-inspired cuisine, cocktails, wines and bottled beers and the late night, Sugarloaf bar.

The Victoria brings together quality bartenders, a great selection of drinks & homemade food and a cracking calendar of events and DJ nights.

Island Bar, next to the Alexandra Theatre, hosts regular DJs and live music, serves unique cocktails and also offers Birmingham's very first Tiki Bar! Check out their cocktail master classes too.

 The Jekyll & Hyde has a Alice in Wonderland-inspired heated courtyard and a beautiful Victorian-era Gin Parlour, offering a quirky, refreshing experience away from the mainstream.

The Rose Villa Tavern, next to the clock tower in the Jewellery Quarter, offers a contemporary mix of cocktails, global beers and quality pub food, as well as regular DJ nights, in a grand grade II listed building.

The New Inn located in Harborne is a contemporary British gastropub offering a delicious range of organic and free-range meat.


City Centre

The Old Joint Stock is one of the grandest pubs in Birmingham's city centre. The pub serves the finest ales and wines and a selection of great pub food, including their trade-mark pies - made fresh on the premises. The Old Joint Stock's Theatre plays host to the Birmingham Wine School- an independent wine education company, running regular wine tasting and wine courses. Why not enjoy a laid back drink in the tranquil Blue Piano. Drinks can be enjoyed outside in their delightful south facing garden and they also have an outdoor bar service available during sunny weather. Lost and Found's cocktail menu was created on the premise of re-discovering forgotten classics and creating their own signature drinks. they're very passionate about only using the very best ingredients behind the bar; some spirits you'll know and some you might not so they'd be more than happy to recommend a tipple.


The Birmingham Whisky Club

 The Birmingham Whisky Club is a whisky-tasting events company that plays host to a varied and exciting calendar of events, including: tutored tastings, brand and distillery events, food and whisky matching, cigar and whisky classes, festivals, taste-a-long film nights, distillery tours and much more.

The Club is committed to showcasing only the finest whisky from around the world to the people of Birmingham, whether they are beginners or whisky connoisseurs!


Nickolls & Perks

 Established in the year 1797, situated in the Black Country, Stourbridge, Nickolls & Perks is the oldest wines and spirits merchant in the UK outside London.

Bordeaux, Champagne, Vintage Port & Whisky are their main specialist areas, they have recently been named by Which Wine Guide as "The Bordeaux Wine Merchant Specialist of the UK".

Nickolls & Perks regularly host tasting events for retail and corporate customers in their 16th Century Cellars and other venues in the Midlands.
