Content Strands

The event theme is based on Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and how they impact student learning. Cultivate new ideas through our Educational Sessions organized around these six key content strands:   

Strand One: Health / Wellness - Addresses: chronic illness, depression, abuse of drugs and alcohol, lack of health care, obesity, and food deprivation, etc.

Strand Two: Safety / Security - Addresses: guns, gang violence, school shootings, and stability in the home, etc.

Strand Three: Culture / Climate - Addresses: bullying, immigration status, and acceptance of differences.

Strand Four: Student Engagement - Addresses: cultural proficiency, technology, test scores, social and emotional needs.

Strand Five: Achievement, Individuality, Creativity - Addresses: Personal Growth and self-fulfillment.

Strand Six: Helping Others - Addresses: Self-Transcendence.

Sessions presented by educational leaders, State Education representatives, Council staff, strategic partners, educational groups, and attorneys. Final topics published Summer 2018.
