What is the New Payments Platform (NPP), and what does it mean to me?
The New Payments Platform (NPP) is a major local initiative to develop new infrastructure for Australian payments. It is claimed it will provide Australian consumers, businesses and governments with a fast versatile, data-rich payments system for making their everyday payments. We explore what this means in reality and how it will both affect and benefit the Australian travel ecosystem from vendor to traveller.
  • What is NPP, what it is designed to achieve, and how will early implementers of its capability impact the travel sector?

15.20 5YFN = Payments - five years from now (or less)
What will our world will be like 5 years from now, relative to payments for travel and what should we be doing today in order to prepare?
There are many examples of a significant step change in eliminating cash from the payments process in many countries. Last year's example in India being high profile, however there are others e.g. Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Greece, and across Europe the use of the 500 Euro bill stops.

What is replacing cash, and how will it impact the travel ecosystem end to end? We explore what is happening and why. The world will move from cash to cashless, physical cards to virtual cards and the impact to our industry and its travellers. Are you ready?
