Andrew Sabatino MFIA- The importance of mulit-channel donor engagement

Face-to-face (F2F) fundraising remains the largest source of new regular givers to Australian charities, yet first-year attrition rates often hover around 50%. In this presentation Andrew will outline how Guide Dogs have developed a robust acquisition program and then demonstrate how to engage donors using a multi-channel approach. Over the course of five years, Guide Dogs SA/NT has implemented a range of measures that has seen its first year F2F attrition reduce from 49% to 40%, and delinquency decrease from 26% to 6%. Andrew will outline the various ways that Guide Dogs has tackled the attrition and delinquency challenge and the ongoing tweaking being trialled to drive ROI.

Often we hear people say fundraising is not rocket science, and it’s not!  BUT it is a careful balance between science and art. In a time where economic confidence is dwindling and times are significantly tougher more than ever does the future belongs to the organisations that have a strong, vital major gifts program. Major Gifts do require an effective approach to asking for and then securing the gift.  The vision, dreams and motivations of donor need to be understood, captured and then turned into a successful outcome for all. In this session, that effective approach will be explored and put into practice, resulting in the best opportunities for future Major Gift success.
