Managers attending the Summit |
Aphilion
Aphilion, an equity specialist founded in 2001 and based in Brussels, Belgium, will be presenting their funds (total AUM 240M$): the market neutral hedge fund Aphilion SIF, and the UCITS Aphilion Q² with its two compartments Equities (long only global equity) and Balance (mixed defensive).
Since its inception in 2008, Aphilion SIF (registered in Luxemburg) has
delivered annualized returns of 14% with an ex-post beta of near zero. 2014
performance was +27%, 2015 return +22%. Aphilion Q² (registered in Belgium) –
Equities has outperformed its benchmark (MSCI World, €) with almost 6%
p.a. since the launch in 2001.
Our in-house mathematical models based on fundamental data provide us
with a score for all the stocks in our universe of approximately 5000 stocks
worldwide (only developed markets). The models are not followed blindly, and
are run on a daily basis, which means all decisions are constantly monitored.
This allows us to avoid most classic pitfalls of quantitative investing and
makes it a lot easier to follow classic risk management guidelines. We
think our proprietary methodology sets us apart from many, (at first sight)
comparable funds and makes Aphilion SIF, Aphilion Q² - Equities or Aphilion Q²
- Balance a good diversification in any multi-manager strategy.
