Plenary: "The history of the Marcé Society - a fascinating journey"

Dr Nine M.C. Gangeaud Freudenthal, Ph.D. was trained in Clinical and pathological psychology and in Biochemistry. She has been Research Fellow (now: emeritus) of the French Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS; National Center for Scientific Research) at the Epidemiological Research Unit on Perinatal Health and Women’s and Children’s Health in Paris.

As President of the International Marcé Society she hosted the Biennial Congress of the society in Paris, October 3 - 5, 2012. She is one of the founders and presently honorary member of the Francophone group of the Marcé society (SMF). Since 1999, she initiated a National database (more than thousand inclusions) and investigated Mother-Baby joint inpatient admissions to Mother-Baby Units in France and Belgium. At present she participates in the work of a group of experts for the French children and parents cohort study: ELFE www.elfe-france.fr.

She has published several epidemiological studies in collaboration with the working group UMB-SMF and is now editing a book on fathers in the perinatal period.
