Workshop 1: Understanding and Managing the Impact of Policy and Taxation on Mining Investment

This workshop will provide mining investment stakeholders with imperative information based on in-depth research, into the motivations, actions and subsequent impact of mining policy and taxation on investments in the sector. This first-ever event promises to give investors, mining executives and governments alike an understanding of the real impact of critical decisions on tax and policy optimised around the life-cycles of investments and projects – delivering essential value at each critical stages of investment, exploration, project development and operation to generate visibility, guide decisions, facilitate planning and minimise exposure. Insights gleamed from this presentation will give participants the critical information to develop African mining and resource investments and projects intelligently, operate them successfully and responsibly, and exit profitably.

Workshop 2: Mining Insight: An Industry Explained

This three-hour course will provide a comprehensive overview of the mining sector including: size and shape of the global industry, overview of the largest players, geological processes, methodologies and metals-recovery. It will also address influences on metals demand and supply, costs, and the long-term price behavior of commodities. Building on our success over the past three years at Mining Inbaba this continuation of our Mining Insight session will be valuable both to new participants and to those who have attended previously.
