Where will you buy your next Prada, LV or Mulberry handbag? How much cheaper can one buy luxury / fashion items in China and on-line?

Luxury retail’s move from brick and mortar to on-line is only just beginning in China. In addition, although shoppers remain brand conscious, increasingly average shoppers may turn more price conscious as the economy slows, and anti-corruption campaigns continue. Looking longer-term, the hundreds of millions of aspirational consumers are like to drive demand and price sensitivity. However, e-commerce is still only just begun, and Alibaba may just be the tip of the iceberg. Upcoming investment opportunities will be countless and the impact much more severe to existing retailers than we currently comprehend.

Programming is the world’s new language as our next generation needs to communicate with computers as much as with humans. While children are now accustomed to content offered on tablets and phones, including games, videos and photos, perhaps it’s about time to inspire and empower them to be creators with technology.

In this one hour ‘afterschool’ session, we have cordially invited Michelle Sun, the CEO and co-founder of First Code Academy to share her vision of sparking interests in young students and linking programming directly back to their daily lives. There will also be a fun workshop available for children of age 7 – 12 to create their own apps with their parents, while others are welcome to come and test out apps made by students.
RSVP to parent-child participation is necessary. The session will be conducted in English and Cantonese, spaces are limited and will be on a first come first serve basis.
