Sedex Conference 2016

The Barbican Centre

Venue information, transport and local accommodation options.

In the heart of the City of London, with excellent national and international transport links, the AIM-Gold accredited Barbican is Europe’s largest combined arts and events centre.

This unique, historic venue designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon in the Brutalist style, has always been a conversation starter, and will be an excellent venue for the Sedex Conference 2016.

Day 1: Milton Court
Recently opened to great acclaim, Milton Court Concert Hall is an exciting addition to the Barbican. Part of a £90million development for the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the hall boasts a maximum seat capacity of 608, world-class acoustic design and state-of-the-art technical capability, and is supported by a knowledgeable technical and events team.

Dinner: Barbican Conservatory & Garden Room
The spectacular Conservatory is a joy to discover, a hidden tropical oasis in the heart of the city which is home to finches, quails, exotic fish and over 2,000 species of tropical plants and trees. The Garden Room is a stunning catering area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Barbican Lakeside, St Giles Church and the cityscape of London.

Day 2: Barbican Hall, Cinema and Lobby
With its superb technical resources, intelligent design and excellent acoustics, Barbican Hall is justifiably acknowledged as one of the country's finest auditoriums. Its breadth of facilities and size, seating from 500 to 1943 people, make the Hall the ultimate venue for larger conferences.
