- Provide pitchers of water or a large water station, instead of using individual bottled waters for each guest.
- Inform attendees of the public transportation options and walking routes. The Skirvin Hilton Hotel is located within walking distance of the meeting space, restaurants, and other downtown sites and attractions.
- Use recycling bins in hotel employee offices.
- Remove paper cups in employee break areas.
- Offer water dispensers instead of water bottles in the Fitness Center.
- Offer a reuse program for linens and towels to save water and energy.
- Compost fruit and vegetables trimmings to reduce waste traveling to landfills.
- Use e‐mail to communicate as often as possible in planning stages, not memos or letters.
- Use overhead projectors rather than flip charts during presentations.
- Use a new incentive called Blue Energy – Light Stay.
- Track and report carbon emissions
- Use energy efficient lighting for at least 50% of the interior areas.
- Install energy efficient lighting controls, sensors and timers.
- Utilize on-site/off-site water reclamation system to reuse water for landscaping and non-potable uses
- Use water-efficient water closets and showers--can provide average flow rate for water closets, showers, and sinks.

- Use lanyards made from recycled materials.

- Provide speaker notes and materials online.
- Make two sided copies when possible.
- Display the program on screens to encourage less use of paper programs.
