Melbourne Zoo

The Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens, commonly known as the Melbourne Zoo, contains more than 320 animal species from Australia and around the world. The zoo is 4 kilometres north of the centre of Melbourne.

Brighton Beach

Dive into Port Phillip Bay under the watch of 82 distinctive bathing boxes, a row of uniformly proportioned wooden structures lining the foreshore at Brighton Beach.

Built well over a century ago in response to very Victorian ideas of morality and seaside bathing, the bathing boxes remain almost unchanged. All retain classic Victorian architectural features with timber framing, weatherboards and corrugated iron roofs, though they also bear the hallmarks of individual licencees' artistic and colourful embellishments.

Melbourne Museum

A visit to Melbourne Museum is a rich, surprising insight into life in Victoria. We show you Victoria's intriguing permanent collections and bring you brilliant temporary exhibitions from near and far. You'll see our natural environment, our cultures and our history through different perspectives.

We left our old home in the State Library Building in 1997, and into a building located in Carlton Gardens that was designed by Denton Corker Marshall. The new Melbourne Museum reopened on 21 October 2000.

Markets are an institution in Melbourne and no one does it quite like they do, be spoilt for choice at Queen Victoria Markets fresh food halls including smallgoods, fine cheeses and delicious baked treats. Opening Thursday – Sunday. If you love all things creative Melbourne showcases its best and brightest at their local arts and crafts markets located throughout the city including St Kilda and Fitzroy.

Freddy’s Bike Tour - Melbourne all-in-one city bicycle tour

I’m Free Walking Tours

Overview: Join the group and you will uncover the history and explore the sites of Australia’s cultural capital. Your friendly and knowledgeable Melbourne tour guide will give you insights into the people, places and events of this city.
From the State Library you will explore Melbourne’s beginnings and development from its founding in 1835 right up to the major developments that have made Melbourne the world city that it is today.
