We're heading up the Saint John River to visit Big Axe Brewing in Nackawic. Big Axe is one of NB's newest breweries producing fun and delicious beer. Owner/Brewer Pete Cole will take us through a tasting of 3-4 different beers being produced onsite and we'll enjoy lunch in their tap room provided by Chesspiece Patisserie. These gourmet picnic lunches include an artisan sandwich on fresh-baked breads, fruit, and a handmade dessert. Bottled water is also available.

On our way back to Fredericton, Beer Trivia will keep guests entertained. On the drive your guide will share some of the history of beer making in the province, including the story behind Moosehead, Canada’s Oldest Independently-owned Brewery (1867). Guests have the chance to win Moosehead gear by answering trivia questions correctly.

Our first stop in Fredericton is Grimross Brewery. A newer craft brewery in the city. Owner/Brewer Stephen Dixon will take you on a tour of his brewery while sampling 3-4 of the beers they produce. Grimross produces many Belgian-influenced ales that are different from the other breweries we visit today.

We finish the tour in Fredericton at the brand new Picaroons Roundhouse Brewery. Here we will have a tour of the new brewery and sample several of their beers on tap. From here, guests can either return to the hotel on their own (20 minute walk, crossing the old train bridge) or relax until the bus picks us up at 5:45pm.
