Taiwan Business Awards 2014
Overview
The award for Economic Contribution recognises firms that are making an outstanding
contribution to Taiwan’s economy. One corporate and one SME will receive this award, which
will take into account the size of the business, the creation of jobs, and the scale of innovation
to assure future business sustainability – such as investment in R&D.
Scoring & Criteria
One large company and one SME will be chosen based on their contribution to Taiwan’s economy – and the sustainability of that contribution.
- Job creation
- Social contribution
- Scope for expansion
- Commitment to innovation/ diversification for future business sustainability (e.g. investment in training or R&D)
Please note – SME entries:
To enter as an SME, the enterprise must meet the following criteria, as defined by the Ministry
of Economic Affairs. The enterprise must:
- Have completed company registration or business registration in accordance with the requirements of the laws.
AND
- Be an enterprise in the manufacturing, construction, mining or quarrying industry with paid- in capital of NT$80 million or less. The number of regular employees must be less than 200.
OR
- Be an enterprise in any industry other than manufacturing, construction, mining or quarrying, with a sales revenue of NT$100 million or less in the previous year. The number of regular employees must be less than 100.
