GI for GPs Course

Program

Learning Objectives

After participating in the 11th Annual GI for GPs Course, delegates will be able to:
  • Understand how to respond to several common gastroenterological concerns frequently seen in family and general practice;
  • Provide a summary of recent developments in gastroenterology and articulate how those updates in treatment and diagnosis affect clinical practice in the primary care setting;
  • Explain when to refer common gastroenterological problems to a specialist versus when those concerns can be addressed in the primary care setting;
  • Examine a number of case studies dealing with common GI issues and provide a suggested course of practice based on the information provided in Course sessions;
  • Network and interact with colleagues and experts in the field in order to discuss common and often complex gastroenterological problems.

Accreditation

This program will be submitted for accreditation to the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Further information on continuing education credits will be posted once it is available.
