Dr Fariba Alamdari
Vice President Marketing
Boeing Commercial Airplanes
Dr Fariba Alamdari, and her team of world-class technical marketing experts, partner with the Boeing sales and product development strategy team, forecast demand for airplane and related services, and evaluate market risks and opportunities. 
From 2010 to 2013, as vice president of Marketing and Value Analysis, Alamdari was responsible for Commercial Airplanes’ go-to-market strategies in regions around the world, as well as analytics, modeling and simulation in support of sales and product development. From 2006 to 2010, as vice president of Future Markets, Alamdari led the Current Market Outlook forecast team and was responsible for economic and financial analysis, airline revenue analysis and network fleet planning. She also led the operation and development of the Customer Experience Center. 
Alamdari is an expert in the marketing and economics of the aviation industry, with a specific focus on the strategic implications of airline deregulation. In 2006, she joined Boeing from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, where she served as chair of the university’s Department of Air Transport, professor of Air Transport Management and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Manufacturing and Science. In those roles, she worked closely with airlines to help make them more profitable, productive and innovative and also consulted with airports, aircraft manufacturers, regulatory bodies and service providers. 
In addition to publishing more than 70 articles and reports on aviation-related issues, Alamdari has chaired and spoken at many international conferences. She is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and recipient of several awards including: “Woman of the Year” by Air Transport News in 2016, "Ellis Island Medal of Honor“ from The National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) in 2016, presented each year on historic Ellis Island to a select group of individuals for their accomplishments in their field, "Leadership Award” from the Centre for Women & Democracy in 2015, the “Professional Award” from Career Communication Group, Inc in 2011, “Professional Practice Recognition Award” from State University of New York Institute of Technology, School of Business in 2010, and “Sorenson Best Paper Award” for the joint paper with Burrell on “Marketing to Female Business Travellers” published in the Journal of Air Transportation World Wide in 2000. 
Alamdari received a PhD from Cranfield University on the economic impact of airline deregulation in 1988, a Masters degree in transport economics from Cranfield University and an undergraduate degree in politics and economic studies from the University of Social and Political Studies in Tehran. She is currently on the advisory board of University of Washington- Bothell and is a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University, UK. She is on the board of the Boeing Leadership Development Excellence, and is a former Executive Board member of NeighborCare Health (2009-2014). She also served on the Board of British American Business Council in Washington state.
 
Mr Vicente Alava Pons

Vicente, Managing Director and Regional Head for Aviation, is responsible for DVB Bank's aviation finance activities in the Asia/Pacific region.
Vicente joined DVB in 2003 from Lufthansa German Airlines where he had been responsible for all aircraft and asset finance related activities of the Lufthansa Group mainly arranging tax enhanced lease products such as JOLs, US O-FSC and QTE leases for Lufthansa and related companies including regional partners such as Air Dolomiti and Eurowings. He was also responsible for the financial aspects of aircraft purchase and operating lease agreements for the Lufthansa Group. Before joining Lufthansa he had spent a year with Spectrum Capital, a small boutique arranger with an exclusive advisory mandate for British Airways.
Vicente started his professional career in 1993 at Bayerische Landesbank where after a short period with Corporate Finance he quickly moved to the Aircraft Finance Department of the bank and worked on, amongst others, the first ECA financing of Airbus aircraft in which all three portions of the financing were underwritten solely by Bayerische Landesbank. In total Vicente brings close to 21 years of aviation finance experience and close to 24 years in banking/finance experience to DVB. He holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Duisburg
 
Mr Peter Bellew
Group Managing Director & CEO
Malaysia Airlines Berhad
Peter Bellew was appointed Group Managing Director (“MD”) and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of MAG and Malaysia Airlines Berhad (“MAB”) on 1st July 2016. He brings with him over 20 years experience in the aviation industry. He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) from the Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
Peter Bellew joined MAB as Chief Operations Officer on 1 September 2015. He was appointed Executive Director on to the Board of MAB on 19 April 2016 and subsequently named Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Prior to MAB Peter was at Ryanair where he served in various roles with increasing responsibility since 2006 leaving the airlines as the Director of Flight Operations for up to 72 bases, operating a total of 320 aircraft. In this role, he ensured cost effective operations and punctuality at more than 150 airports in over 30 countries, created a training organisation for 600 new Boeing pilots, built employee representative council structures in 19 countries, opened 61 new overseas bases, and introduced new technologies to reduce costs across the airline.
Peter also served as the Head of Sales and Marketing at Ryanair where he played a pivotal role in introducing new customer service initiatives, pan-European TV advertising, and positive press relations contributing to record sales. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Director Flight Operations.
Before Ryanair he was the CEO and founder of vbnets.com/wapprofit Ireland established in 1998, an IT service business focussed on mobile wireless technology.
Peter served as the Kerry Airport General Manager in Ireland from 1993 to 1997 and founded Kerry Holidays – an inbound tour operator to support new airline services to the region. Prior to that, Peter was the Drive Ireland Managing Director Liverpool, UK from 1989 – 1993, founded the first direct sell tour operators
 
Mithun Biswas

Mithun has more than 11 year experience in Market strategy, Forecasting, Competitive analysis, Business development, Customer relationship management in Aviation industry. He has worked extensively in domains like economic analysis, new production introduction, market sizing, go to market strategies, supply /demand analysis etc. Currently as the Regional Marketing Director he is responsible for providing marketing leadership by developing and communicating regional market intelligence and insights using customer segmentation, targeting and positioning of the Commercial Engine and Services businesses. In this role he is responsible for delivering annual business plan and managing key customer relations as well as branding initiatives for GE Aviation business in Asia Pacific.
Mithun has extensive experience in leading multicultural and local teams focused on providing customer intelligence and marketing analytics domain.
He is a certified Green Belt professional and completed his certificate of Business Strategy from Cornell University. He also holds an MBA and engineering degree from India.
 
Dinara Botskina

Dinara Botskina is a Regional Sales Director of Civil Aircraft Marketing & Sales department in Irkut Corporation and in charge sales in South-East Asia, China and CIS countries promoting MC-21 Program.

Dinara has been working in aviation for over 20 years in various positons. She started her career in 90s with British Airways as flight dispatcher and ticketing agent in Sheremetyevo airport, in 2003 opened the operations of Emirates Airline in Domodedovo airport and then appointed to sales department.

In 2006 Dinara switched from passenger side of airline business to cargo working as commercial director in Qatar Airways Cargo department in Moscow and got IATA diploma of professional trainer working in Air Bridge Cargo (Volga-Dnepr Group), provided trainings in Russian and international branches.

Dinara also gained some experience in business aviation, selling flights in “Fly Victor” and then as a regional associate in Cessna Aircraft Company, selling business jets in Russia and CIS.

 
Ms Wendy Bowden

Wendy has been involved in the Finance field for over 35 years and has spent the last ten years in the airline industry. Wendy’s aviation experience ranges from the management of airline financial issues including detailed sector analysis, cash flows, aircraft induction and maintenance programs (financial aspects) and compliance and financial management issues. Wendy has worked with Nauru Airlines in the role of Chief Financial Officer since 2006 and has seen the successful expansion of the airline’s fleet from one aircraft to the current five.
 
Mr Atanas Christov

Atanas is President and CEO of New York-based Affinity Capital Exchange (ACE) – a FinTech company bringing capital markets infrastructure to the loyalty world, unlocking new sources of financing for loyalty program sponsors (airlines, hotels, banks and retailers).
ACE, in collaboration with NASDAQ, is building the first institutional exchange that will provide program sponsors, banks, hedge funds and other institutions with the platform to trade points that have been packaged into "point-backed securities".
Atanas has over 20 years of experience addressing some of the airline industry’s most pressing challenges in innovative and sustainable ways. Prior to founding ACE, Atanas served as CEO of Vayant Travel Technologieswhere he repositioned the business prior to its partial acquisition by Lufthansa. During the financial crisis of 2008-09 Atanas was appointed Director of Corporate Restructuring at American International Group (AIG) where he led high-profile divestitures including ILFC, Global Real Estate and AIG’s offshore technology operations.
Atanas began his professional career at McKinsey & Company in New York where he spent almost a decade serving marquee clientele across Travel, Banking and Finance.
Atanas holds academic degrees from Amsterdam University, UK’s Chartered Institute of Marketing, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Andrew, now at his 7th low cost airline, is a specialist in start-up/early stage, high growth LCCs having focused on the sector for the past 16 years. 
Most recently, from Mar 2013 to date, Andrew has been working at HK Express (www.hkexpress.com) driving its transformation into a low cost carrier (LCC). Operating a fleet A320s growing to over 30 aircraft by the end of 2017, HKExpress is rapidly growing its route network across Asia. Recognition: 1. One of the top 10 safest LCC’s in the world, 2. Offering the second lowest fares per kilometre for all international carriers 3. The leading OTP amongst all Hong Kong base carriers since launch as an LCC 4. Consistently high customer service scores and low complain rates 2015 marked the move into sustained profitability achieved through continued cost reduction and business expansion. 
Moving into 2016, HKExpress led the founding of the world’s first LCC alliance U-Fly Alliance (www.uflyalliance.com), laying a platform for further market penetration and business growth. This was followed in April 2016 with the launch of reward-U, HKExpress’ innovative guest loyalty programme, which is already demonstrating its popularity with frequent travellers.

Mark Dunnachie is the Vice President Asia Pacific of Embraer Commercial Aviation, with overall responsibility for sales, marketing, customer support and primary customer relationships in the Asia Pacific Region. Mark joined Embraer Commercial Aviation in 2000, as Sales Director EMEA based in Paris France. In 2008 he was promoted to Managing Director ECC Leasing, Embraer’s 100% owned Asset Management Organisation based in Dublin Ireland, where he was responsible for the management of the company’s pre-owned portfolio. In 2011 he added to his responsibilities as Head of Lessor Sales Embraer for the EMEA region. In August 2013 he moved to Singapore to take on his current role.

Prior to joining Embraer he worked at BAE Systems for 10 years in a wide range of executive positions covering Market Planning, Business Development and Sales in an equally varied range of markets from Asia Pacific, through Europe, the CIS and North America. He was also actively involved in the then JV between ATR and BAE; AIR International. He started his career in 1989 where he was involved in the set up and launch of a small private scheduled Dutch airline. He is a Trustee of the ISTAT Foundation, he holds a BSc degree in Maritime Commerce from the University of Wales Cardiff and is married with 2 sons.

Before joining DVB, Bertrand spent four years at Citibank's London Asset Finance Group with primary responsibility over part of Europe and Japan. The Group delivered highly structured asset finance productsout of Japan and Germany to first class airlines and railways operators worldwide. Prior to Citibank, and since 1985, Bertrand has had various positions at Banque Indosuez, renamed Credit Agricole Indosuez,in Paris, Tokyo and New York : Head of the Tokyo-based Asian Aviation Team andTokyo Branch Manager, New York Branch Managerwith direct responsibility over all American Asset Finance and LBO / PE activities.
Bertrand holds an MBA from ESSEC ( France ). Since January 2017, Bertrand is also advising as 'Industry Expert' the Canadian Pension Fund CPPIB and is part of the Advisory Committee of the US Based PE Fund Hudson Structured Capital Management.
 
Vipula Gunatilleka

Vipula Gunatilleka currently serves as the CFO/ Emirates Nominee Board Member of TAAG Angolan Air Lines. Vipula is key member of the senior management team responsible for turning around the loss making national carrier of Angola and responsible for Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources & Procurement functions of the airline.

Vipula started his accounting career at KPMG in Sri Lanka and counts over 25 years of senior leadership experience with some of the leading companies Sri Lanka, Singapore and Australia. He was also the CFO of Sri Lankan Airlines and played a pivotal role during the management transition of the National Carrier from Emirates to the Government of Sri Lanka in 2008.

Vipula is a fellow member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka ,Certified Public Accountant (CPA) of Australia and holds a MBA from the University of Colombo. He is also a GE Trained Six Sigma.

 
Hideyuki Kamiya

Hideyuki (“Hide”) Kamiya is in charge of global marketing including product marketing of the MRJ program.
Supporting the sales and finance teams, Hide’s group covers aircraft performance, economic and finance analysis. Since joining Mitsubishi’s marketing team in 2005, he has also taken on a three-year assignment with Boeing’s marketing team in Seattle.
Prior to the MRJ program, he worked as an aerodynamicist for nine years at Japan’s leading aerospace company, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagoya Aerospace Works.
He graduated from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Science and Engineering, followed by a master’s degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the same university in 1996.
He lives in Nagoya, Japan with his wife and two daughters. He has a private pilot license with an instrument rating.
 
Ms Teresa Lopes

As Finance Director of TAP – Portugal, Teresa Lopes responsible for both Corporate Finance matters, such as the Group Companies financing management either aircraft structured financings or other investment financing needs related (companies acquisition, etc.), treasury and risk management (interest rate, exchange rate and jet fuel hedging), etc., as well as those more commonly known as Transactional matters, such as accounting, budgeting and control, revenue management, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury.

A Shared Services Centre (TAP Services) was set up in 2005 to provide financial services, amongst others, to the most significant companies of TAP’S Group, such as TAP, SGPS (the Group’s Holding company), TAP - Portugal (subdivided in three business units – the airline business, including about 25 representations based all over the world, the maintenance and engineering business and TAP Services), Portugália (a Regional Airline), Groundforce (the Handling Service Company), Megasis and UCS.

As a consequence of the setting up of TAP Services and all the optimization initiatives in the meanwhile developed and still in course, the efficiency of the Financing Services has improved very significantly in some processes due to the reduction of the number of people affected to the processes on one hand, and the activity increase of the client companies/business units on the other hand.

At the present stage, Teresa Lopes coordinates about 200 people, of which 9 directly. She reports directly to the Board Member of TAP in charge of the financial matters.

 
Ross McKeand

Ross G. McKeand was appointed Head of Marketing - Asia-Pacific in November 2016. Mr McKeand has over 10 years’ experience in aviation and has worked extensively in Europe and Asia-Pacific. He is now based in Singapore and leads the Bombardier Commercial Aircraft marketing teams in Asia-Pacific.
Prior to joining Bombardier, Mr McKeand worked for both GECAS and Airbus. He spent the past five years with GECAS where the last position he held was Vice President - Product Strategy. He started his career in the Airbus Marketing Division in Toulouse, before moving to Airbus Product Strategy, where he was part of the small team that nurtured the A320neo to life.
Ross holds an MSc in Aerospace Vehicle Design from Cranfield University and an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow.
 
Christopher Murray

As the Head of Operations, Digital for Rolls-Royce in Singapore, Chris is currently building the local Digital team, who are working closely with Rolls-Royce’s APAC customers to unlock new value from data, using the latest technologies and the most advanced data science.
Chris has spent most of his career, but not exclusively, in the aerospace sector. Chris started his career with Rolls-Royce in 1998 and since then, has held a number of duties; starting as a software engineer for the nuclear sector, British Aerospace, the London Underground train and the Rolls-Royce Customer Portal; then as part of the Innovation team and as a project manager for the TotalCare® Services; and as part of the Data Experts’ team as a Business Development Consultant and an Account Manager before moving into his current role in 2014. Chris has therefore a deep understanding of both the Rolls-Royce’s Services and data landscapes, which is invaluable in his current role.
Chris is married with a young family. A keen sportsman, Chris has previously played Badminton and Squash, defending his local team and representing Rolls-Royce when living in the UK. Chris is also a keen skier, snowboarder, golfer, cyclist and swimmer, however, today, spends most of his time taking his boys on weekends adventures.
 
Robert Neal

Robert Neal joined in Allegiant in 2007 and has held various roles in fleet transactions, fleet planning, airport planning, and charter sales before assuming his current position in 2016. Robert currently oversees the company’s fleet transactions and corporate finance group, engine heavy maintenance program, materials supply chain, and shares responsibilities for Allegiant’s various treasury activities. During his tenure with the fleet and treasury team, Robert has been a primary contributor in executing transactions for purchase and financing of the company’s Airbus aircraft as Allegiant has begun a transition away from its MD80 fleet. Prior to joining Allegiant, Mr. Neal worked for the advertising agency SK+G in Las Vegas. Mr. Neal holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
 
Mr Bertrand Pabon

Bertrand Pabon was appointed to his position within ATR in January 2011. He is responsible for Market strategy, Business and Market intelligence. His team provides market analysis, establishes company marketing plan, contributes to product development orientation, covers leasing and investor marketing activities. Bertrand Pabon has been involved in airline business since 1999 when he joined Air France in long term network and fleet planning department. He took part in long haul fleet renewing process introducing A330 fleet. Involved in alliances and partnerships assessment from a network point of view, he then joined operational activities at Charles de Gaulle airport where he held various management positions. Instrumental in ensuring long haul development in a highly constrained infrastructure environment, he developed a thorough sense of airline activity. He then led restructuring projects in various domains to reduce structural costs. He holds a Master degree in Aerospace engineering from Cranfield University and ISAE engineering school as well as in Air Transport Economics from Toulouse School of Economics.
 
Mr Hyuk Park

Hyuk Park is the head of planning at Jeju Air, based in Seoul, Korea, where he oversees the company's network planning, strategy, partnership, and ancillary revenues. Hyuk has a wealth of consulting experience within the aviation industry, working for airlines, airports, government agencies and financial institutions around the world.

Before returning to Seoul and Jeju Air, Hyuk spent over a decade in San Francisco working first as an analyst for Roberts, Roach & Associates, a boutique consulting firm specializing in aviation, and then as a consultant for Unisys' Transportion Management Consulting practice. He has also held positions with American Airlines in Dallas, Texas, and with the Philadelphia International Airport. Hyuk holds a B.S. degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

 
Saravanan Ramasamy

Saravanan has extensive experience in a wide spectrum of specialties in commercial sphere of the airline industry spanning over 12 years. At present, being the Head of Commercial Strategy at Malindo, Saravanan is tasked to oversee and consolidate the key areas of commercial, namely; Sales, Distribution, Interline Management and Marketing. Under this role, reporting directly to the Commercial Director, Saravanan is pivotal in bringing all these departments strategies under a coherent and cohesive Commercial action plan to achieve the target revenue and profitability.

Saravanan, an accountant by qualification, is currently a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountant. He has completed his Masters in Economics at the National University of Singapore under the coveted ASEAN Graduate Scholarship

 
Subashini Silvadas
Group Head - Strategy & Fleet

Subashini joined AirAsia in 2007 and is currently responsible over the strategic direction of AirAsia Group which has airline operating company in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and India. She is also responsible for evaluating merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities, joint ventures, special projects, corporate developments and ensuring the Group has the right fleet strategy to support the Group’s growth. Prior to this, Subashini was in charge of the Group’s Network & Fleet planning function and also has experience in Revenue Management.
Subashini is a chartered certified accountant and is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK (ACCA). Prior to joining AirAsia, Subashini worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia for 5 years.
 
Mike Szucs

Mike started his airline career as a pilot with British Airways in 1990 flying Boeing 737, 757, 767 and Airbus A320 aircraft. He moved into management within British Airways in 1996 and by the year 2000, at the age of 34, was appointed as Chief Pilot of their Gatwick operations. In 2001, Mike moved into the commercial side of British Airways as General Manager World Sales.
By late 2003 Mike moved to easyJet as Operations Director responsible for all maintenance, pilots, cabin crew, airport operations, safety and security. Latterly, in 2005 Mike became Chief Operating Officer.
In 2006 Mike took the helm of his first airline, as the CEO of then start-up LCC VivaAerobus in Mexico. After three years, on very little cash investment, the company was thriving with healthy profit margins having weathered, amongst other things, fuel price shocks, excessive over-capacity, swine flu, and peso depreciation.
Since 2009 Mike has taken on a breadth of CEO challenges: trying to rescue a massively distressed airline in Europe (Spanair), successfully starting another Latin American LCC (VivaColombia) and leading the efforts to establish a new LCC for Qatar Airways in Saudi Arabia (Al Maha).
Having seen many other parts of the world, Mike was delighted to come to Asia in February 2016, taking the helm at Cebu Pacific Air as Chief Executive Adviser.
Mike has three children who are in higher education in Europe. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester with a First Class Honours Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Joost is Vice-President Marketing Asia & North America at Airbus, and Deputy Head of Marketing. In this position he has the responsibility for the overall Airbus marketing activity in this broad area, including working with airlines, authorities, banks, and governmental groups, as well as representing Airbus at conferences, seminars and media events.
After graduating from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands with an MSc in Aerospace Engineering in 1998, Joost van der Heijden worked at the same university on commercial projects in the fields of aircraft performance, noise and emissions. His responsibilities included project acquisition, contract proposals and negotiations, engineering work and project management. In this role he worked on projects for a wide variety of customers, including Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Dutch Ministries of Transport and the Environment, and Airbus.
In 1999, Joost moved to Toulouse to join Airbus as a Marketing Analyst. In 2005, he took on the role of Airline Marketing Director for Asia, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Airbus marketing activity with Asian airlines. In 2013 he expanded his role as Head of Marketing Asia with the Deputy Head of Marketing role, and in 2016 was named Head of Marketing for North America in addition to his Head of Asia role.
In his free time Joost enjoys cycling, football, hiking, skiing and reading.
