| Governance Level 2 |
This one-day workshop has been designed by our governance expert Graeme Nahkies for trustees and board members who already have an understanding of Governance and who wish to explore the subject in more detail. Graeme will also facilitate the workshop.
Governance Level 2 will run from 9:30 - 5:30 on Thursday 13 October and can be taken as a stand-alone module or as a two-day workshop in conjunction with either of the following modules which take place the previous day (Wednesday 12 October):

- Governance Level 1
- Investment Level 2
- Concepts of ownership and why and how these relate to good governance
- The board’s policy-making role and its application to gain leverage over organisational performance
- Developing and maintaining an effective partnership with the Chief Executive
- What it means to think in outcome terms and why it is central to board effectiveness
- Encouraging positive boardroom dynamics and dealing with dysfunctionality
- Boardroom decision making traps – how to spot and avoid them
- The importance and characteristics of effective chairing of the board and its committees
The cost to attend Governance Level 2 as a one-day workshop is $450 (Philanthropy New Zealand members) and $650 (non-members).
If
you choose to add a second module (either Investment Level 2 or Governance Level 1), the cost is
$675 (members) and $965 (non-members). Costs quoted are exclusive of
GST.
An optional dinner for all attendees will take place the previous night at Logan Brown. Please let us know when
you register if you would like to also attend the dinner. The cost of dinner is $55 including GST for a set 3-course menu (excluding drinks).
