Paul Taylor
Editor of the FT's Connected Business and US Telecoms Editor, Financial Times

Paul Taylor is the editor of the FT’s The Connected Business section, which focuses on the application of IT to business, and US telecommunications editor.

He joined the FT in 1978 and has since served as local government correspondent, assistant news editor, Americas page editor, New York correspondent, foreign news editor, SE Asia business correspondent and management writer. He was the FT's UK-based IT correspondent for most of the 1990s, launched the FT’s personal technology column in 2002 and started The Connected Business service in September 2010.

Mr Taylor left the FT briefly in 2000 to help found a web-based technology analysis start-up and moved back to New York, where he is now based. He speaks regularly at conferences on technology and the Internet. He has also appeared on CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, BBC TV and others.

Mr Taylor received a post-graduate degree from Cardiff University, Wales, and a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Clive Selley
Chief Executive Officer BT Technology, Service & Operations and Group Chief Information Officer, BT Group 

Clive Selley is Chief Executive Officer of BT Technology Service & Operations (BT TSO) and Chief Information Officer for BT Group plc. BT TSO is responsible for the innovation, design, test, build and running of BT’s global networks and systems.

Mr Selley joined BT as a sponsored student at university and on graduation in 1986 joined BT Labs at Adastral Park. He has held many and varied positions across the company including, most recently, CEO BT Innovate & Design. In that role Mr Selley led the technical teams working on all of the company’s major programmes. Successes included doubling the speed of BT’s fibre broadband products, delivering the technology behind more that 4.5 million WiFi hotspots and delivering the technology behind the London 2012 Olympic games.

He has a B Eng in Electronic Engineering, an MA in International Business Management and was named as one of Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT leaders in its yearbook of 2008.

John Finch 
Chief Information Officer, Experian

John Finch is Chief Information Officer for Experian. He is responsible for spearheading Information Technology delivery and service globally for external clients and Experian people.

Mr Finch has been with Experian since June 2005, working in the CIO role for 18 months. Prior to this he held technology leadership roles in financial services, human capital management, manufacturing and telecommunications. He has also spent time running large development groups in the United States and the Middle East.

 He holds an honours degree in Economics and Business Economics from Hull University.




Phil Pavitt
Global IT Transformation Director, Aviva

Phil Pavitt has over 25 years’ experience in both private and public sector organisations, and has recently joined Aviva as Global IT Transformation Director. In this role he will aim to simplify the insurance company's IT services as well as modernise and digitise its business. Mr Pavitt was previously Director-General Change and Chief Information Officer at HMRC, leading the ‘One HMRC’ transformation programme to great success. Prior to this he has held positions as CIO of Transport for London, where he led a major overhaul of the IT function, and also as CIO at Onetel and NTL.

Over the years Mr Pavitt has been recognised through numerous external awards both on a personal and team level, including winning the British Computer Society CIO of the year award, SAP Quality Awards, Innovation of the Year, The Service Management Project of the Year, European Outsourcing Association Awards End User Winner, Government Communicator of the Year, Public Sector Project of the Year and Innovation in Government Winner, all in 2011 alone.



Sukhi Gill 
Chief Technologist EMEA and HP Fellow, Enterprise Services, HP

Sukhi Gill is the HP Enterprise Services Chief Technologist for Europe, Middle East and Africa where he is responsible for overall technical direction, innovation and leading the senior client facing technical leaders and key Account Chief Technologists in HP's second-largest market. He is also an HP Fellow in Enterprise Services, a title awarded to the corporation's most innovative thought leaders in recognition of their exceptional achievements. 

Mr Gill has 27 years of experience in the IT industry. For the last ten years, he has held a range of chief technologist and enterprise architect roles, establishing successful partnerships with key business sponsors, influencing strategic and architectural direction, and ensuring organisations gain significant business advantage through the strategic deployment of technology and process innovation. Mr Gill moved to the HP Office of Strategy and Technology in 2008 from his role as the HP led ATLAS Consortium Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for technical strategy and innovation for the UK Ministry of Defence’s Information Infrastructure (DII) program. Prior to his return to the UK in 2004, he was the Chief Engineer on the Navy and Marine Corps (NMCI) account, based in San Diego, California. Before working on NMCI, Mr Gill was Infrastructure Technical Director at the UK Inland Revenue account. He transitioned to EDS from the UK Inland Revenue Agency in 1994.
