Advance Global Capital, Ltd (AGC), a financial services company based in the UK, specializes in financing confirmed invoices of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in emerging and underserved markets. AGC unlocks the value of invoices as financeable assets, particularly for women-owned businesses through local financial institutions (“factors”) or directly via invoicing technology platforms. We take a centuries old financing tool and overlay expertise in structuring, risk management and financial software to bring global capital to underserved businesses around the world. We connect SMEs in need of working capital with investors who seek commercial rates of return and positive social impact. Financing backed by invoices offers attractive risk-adjusted returns with low correlation to equity and bond markets. Anavio Capital Partners

Anavio

Anavio Capital Fund Limited is a European focused event driven fund with a capital structure approach. The founding partners are former senior members of the BTG equity investment team (Emiliano Leggieri, Daniel Horsley) and an ex-Goldman Sachs senior director (Dario Sacchetti). The Fund seeks to achieve superior uncorrelated risk-adjusted returns by opportunistically allocating capital across three strategies: Arbitrage, Special Situations, and Capital Markets (IPO’s, blocks, rights issues etc). The Investment Manager employs a fundamental approach to identifying core investments from a universe generally comprised of liquid global equities and credit instruments (and derivatives of each) in all sectors. The fund fully exploits the capital structure to create asymmetric returns on idiosyncratic situations that offer multiple entry points for value creation. Anavio have a one book philosophy where PMs co-own positions and therefore do not have pre-defined capital allocations. The fund strategy is mainly relative value, although opportunistically directional positions are taken.

Aphilion, an equity specialist founded in 2001 and based in Brussels, Belgium, will be presenting their funds (total AUM 260M$): the market neutral hedge fund Aphilion SIF, and the UCITS Aphilion Q² with its two compartments Equities (long only global equity) and Balance (defensive).

Since its inception in 2008, Aphilion SIF (registered in Luxemburg) has delivered annualized returns of 13% with an ex-post beta of near zero. 2014 performance was +27%, 2015 return +22%. Aphilion Q² (registered in Belgium) – Equities has outperformed its benchmark (MSCI World, €) with almost 6% p.a. since the launch in 2001.

Our in-house mathematical models based on fundamental data provide us with a score for all the stocks in our universe of approximately 5000 stocks worldwide (only developed markets). The models are not followed blindly, and are run on a daily basis, which means all decisions are constantly monitored. This allows us to avoid most classic pitfalls of quantitative investing and makes it a lot easier to follow classic risk management guidelines. We think our proprietary methodology sets us apart from many, (at first sight) comparable funds and makes Aphilion SIF, Aphilion Q² - Equities or Aphilion Q² - Balance a good diversification in any multi-manager strategy.

Aphilion is interested to form collaborative long term partnerships with key investors.

DWC is a hedge funds with deep roots in the Telecommunications and Media Industries. Our Managing Partners, Karim Nasr and Frederik Kooij each have over 15 years of management, financial structuring and investing experience within the Telecom and Media universe, across the capital structure. In addition, our seed capital originates from one of the most successful Telecom entrepreneurs of the last fifteen years.

We aim to deliver a true specialist edge to liquid investment strategies. This means superior coverage of our investable universe, whether in the understanding of competitive, regulatory dynamics, operating trends, capital structures, valuation, risk and style factors, trading flows and technical analysis.

The less correlated nature of our investment universe and our ability to invest across the capital structure allows us to select the most appropriate ranges of risk-adjusted returns and hedging opportunities.
We focus on replicable, traceable investment processes and strong risk management discipline, and have made very substantial investments in our operating, compliance, IT and risk management platform.

Our focus is on capital preservation, trying to consistently generate low volatility and low correlation absolute returns. Over the past 4 years of track record, the fund (investing roughly 50/50 in equity and credit) delivered double the High Yield index returns, with 3x less volatility than the Telecom index, significantly lower drawdowns and a higher Sharpe ratio than the market.

These trends are then explored through a bottom-up approach to selected asset classes. We believe that alpha may only be generated from independent thinking, that is why the 20 years of the fund manager investment experience are complemented by the internet community of financial professionals, research firms and industry specialists that we consider to be an incredible source of investment ideas.
