| Maurice Best Stantec Consulting Maurice Best, P.Eng is a Senior Associate of Stantec’s Transportation Group and leads a multidisciplinary unit that specializes in the delivery of Airport (Airside & Groundside) Engineering project including Military Airfield facilities.
He has successfully managed and delivered a variety of large and complex multidisciplinary projects for public and private sector clients. Projects have ranged from large, maintenance facilities to state-of-the-art airports. He has extensive experience and is very knowledgeable in airport operations, safety, zoning, obstruction clearance requirements, and airside and groundside construction standards and practices, as well as a thorough knowledge of Transport Canada, FAA, ICAO and IATA standards.
Currently Maurice is involved with consulting activities on various airport projects including projects for Transport Canada, The Bahamas Ministry of Transport and Aviation and Department of Civil Aviation, the Airport Authority of Jamaica, and the Grantley Adams International Airport Incorporated (GAIA Inc.), Government of Barbados.
A strong risk management focus is fundamental to Maurice's approach. He has delivered projects using virtually every conceivable project delivery methodology and he leverages this experience to identify and control the opportunities and risks unique to each delivery approach. As a director/manager, he seeks to identify and control risks that threaten a project’s budget, scope or schedule before they materialize.
