Carol Larvick
Manager of Controls and Communications, Bonneville Power Administration
Carol Larvick has been engaged in electric utility telecommunications for over 30 years in both the public and private sectors, including consulting.  Her experience includes fiber optics and radio systems engineering, project management, program management, planning, training, acceptance testing, policy development and engineering management.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Gonzaga University.  Carol is currently the Manager of Controls and Communications in Transmission Technology at Bonneville Power Administration.

 

Karl Knoll holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Ohio State University. He has over 20 years of telecommunications experience in the Telco and utility industries planning, designing, and implementing transport and access networks. He is also a member of the WECC Telecommunications Work Group. Karl is currently the Communications & Controls Planning Technical Lead at Bonneville Power Administration where he is part of the Operational Multi-Gigibit Ethernet Transport (OMET) project team, which is implementing BPA’s Carrier Ethernet network.

Kim Zentz
Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, Washington State University and CEO Urbanova

Kim is co-founder and CEO of Urbanova, Spokane’s smart city proving ground in The University District. Established by founding partners Avista, Itron, McKinstry, the City of Spokane, Washington State University and The University District Development Association in 2016, Urbanova is a living laboratory to design cities for the future. Kim is additionally director of the Engineering and Technology Management graduate program for Washington State University’s Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture.

With 30 years of senior executive leadership experience, Kim has held positions as CEO of Innovate Washington, executive director of Sirti (also known as the Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute), CEO of the Spokane Transit Authority, founding president and COO of Avista Labs (now ReliOn/Plug Power) and manager, gas and electric technical services for Avista Utilities.

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Idaho and a Master’s of Engineering Management, from Washington State University.
