 Abstract of Each Lesson

Exploring your data with PI Coresight This session is for people who really want to see for themselves the power and ease of PI Coresight. In this session we will explore solving simple problems using PI Coresight. We will include instruction on using the search capabilities, building displays, and performing some very simple visual data analysis. Students will get a feel for how easy it is to navigate their PI System to get data anywhere. Customers who have a tablet or smartphone can and can optionally use PI Coresight on their mobile devices to complete some of the challenges.

Using Future data to Predict your Process Use the new Future Data capability to examine a sample process and how data in the future is rendered in the PI System. Use the PI AF Server to create calculations to determine forecast error from actual, create event frames for comparisons, and manage performance based KPIs. Use PI Coresight and PI DataLink to create meaningful visualizations

Cooking with the PI System  Have you ever wondered, How do I do Overall Equipment Efficiency with the PI System? How other PI System users are doing Condition-based Maintenance? Track power usage in your critical facilities? Downtime analysis? Now you can see how it's done. In this session we focus on the recently released PI Asset Based Cookbook. The Cookbook is a collection of “recipes” for projects that our customers have proven valuable in their environment. Each recipe is organized into ingredients (what PI System features you need), Steps (how to accomplish the task), and Serving Suggestions (how do I display my results). Learners will be able to select as many of the recipes as they have time to complete. This session will be largely self-directed . There will be facilitators on hand to answer questions.

Administering and Managing PI Server 2015 PI Server 2015 will introduce several new capabilities including the ability to store and retrieve data with future time stamps in the PI Data Archive, in addition to significant security enhancements. In this hands-on lab, you will learn how to use these new capabilities and the new PowerShell snap-in for managing archive files and other tasks. We will also cover the new security model with PI AF 2015 and some best practices for securing your system. Learn how to use the tools that come with the PI Server to keep your PI System running optimally

Tips and Tricks with PI System Explorer and PI Builder  PI System Explorer and PI Builder are tools for creating and building out your AF hierarchy and models. Whether you are a seasoned expert or if you are just starting out with the PI System, come to this hands-on lab and learn some tips and tricks with these software tools that can help speed up your work.

Learn the Basics of PI Programming PI System offers several extensibility technologies including the .Net-based AF SDK, SQL family of developer tools, and the RESTful PI Web API. You can get a broad overview of all the active technologies in the first portion of this lab. You will then choose the technology of your choice and complete a series of exercises to take a deeper dive into it. You will leave this lab with a good understanding of the PI development landscape. You will also gain good familiarity with the basics of at least one of the development tools. Familiarity with a common programming language is a requirement for this lab. Knowing the basics of the PI System is helpful but not required.
