Molly Ride 2012

Molly’s name was Rollin Sanders and his original nickname was Rollie.   Many years ago when he was a young man, and during an evening of fun with friends, his nickname evolved into ‘Molly.’  His friends loved it and the new nickname stuck.  Molly embraced it and used it to his advantage throughout the years.  He formed a company and named it ‘Molly Designs.’

Molly did a lot of work over the years for Kawasaki, Yamaha, General Motors and especially, Toyota.  Molly even designed the Lexus logo for Toyota.  He designed a number of different ground effects kits for Toyota vehicles and much of what he created served as designs that Toyota incorporated into the styling of their vehicles.

Everyone who met Molly felt the magic.  Meeting him was love at first sight and you wanted to be associated with him for the rest of your life.  One of Molly’s qualities that endeared people to him was that he always lit up anyone or any group in a way that was so natural to him.………without trying or even knowing it!

Molly and his wife, Terry, were blessed to have a little girl named Brooke come into their lives about five years ago, and they adopted her.  She has brought much joy to their home and Molly loved telling happy stories about her to his friends during motorcycle rides.  Brook is now 11 years old.

As it is with most of us who were close to Molly, riding was his passion, hobby, relaxation and excitement.  We would come to expect a phone call from him at anytime and hear him say, “Let’s ride!”

Our thoughts are that there is no better way to pay tribute to Molly than with a ride in his honor.  Thus, the ‘Ride On Molly’ Memorial Ride was born.
