Deidre Anderson
Executive Director
United Inner City Services
Deidre Anderson is the Executive Director of United Inner City Services (UICS) in Kansas City, Missouri. UICS is the home of St. Mark Child and Family Development Center which is a high quality early childhood program located in the 12th St. corridor. Ms. Anderson has a varied background in public education, community development, prevention programming and child welfare. Prior to assuming her role at UICS, Ms. Anderson served as the Director of At Risk Programs and Grants for the Hickman Mills School District. Deidre is a former member of the International Bullying Prevention Board of Directors. Her tireless advocacy is grounded in a belief that all families and children deserve access to a high quality education and to live in a safe, secure neighborhood, irrespective of their background.

Tara Brown is an award-winning educator, author and international speaker whose 30-year professional journey has taken her from rural Florida to gang territory in California and to one of the largest high schools in Tennessee with over 36 countries represented. Her international engagements have included Dubai and Beirut, training both educators and students. Known as ‘The Connection Coach’, Tara believes strongly that a major key to student and teacher success is the ability to connect and build positive relationships with students in the classroom and school. Whether here or abroad, Tara’s passion and humor continues to drive her work to better equip adults with the ability to connect with youth in order to unleash their true potential. She is committed to helping strengthen organizations ‘One connection at a time’.
 
Charisse Nixon, PhD
Professor of Psychology
Penn State Erie, The Behrend College
Charisse Nixon received her Ph.D. from West Virginia University and is currently a full professor of Psychology at Penn State Behrend. Her primary research interest focuses on increasing students’ pro-social behaviors and decreasing negative behaviors including various forms of peer mistreatment (e.g., relational and physical mistreatment). Nixon is currently studying effective prevention and intervention efforts (including mentoring) to reduce at-risk behaviors. Building students’ resiliency is a core tenet of her work.

Lee Rush, M.Ed. is the executive director of justCommunity, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Quakertown, PA. that provides training and consultation services to communities, schools and organizations in the area of youth development, community mobilization strategies, student assistance programs and restorative practices. Rush is also an instructor and consultant with the International Institute for Restorative Practices, the world’s first graduate school dedicated solely to Restorative Practices.
 
Beth Yohe

Beth Yohe is an accomplished facilitator, consultant, and training designer with over 20 years of experience. She has written and delivered training programs on a variety of topic areas including addressing bias, ally-building, creating positive school culture, and developing facilitation skills. Beth is the executive director at The Conflict Center and is an adjunct instructor for University of Colorado at Denver’s Department of Education teacher licensure program.
