Day 1 – Sunday, July 3rd 2016

  • Arrival day (from 15:00)
  • Free time for swimming, beach, strolling through Tel Aviv (depending on arrival time)
  • Dinner & overnight in Tel Aviv

 


Day 2 –Monday July 4th 2016
  • Start the day with worship and prayer + Introduction
  • Explore historic Caesarea Maritima, the Roman Capital of Judea, where Peter followed God's leading to visit Cornelius (Acts 10) and where he proclaimed the gospel to the Romans (Acts 24-26).
  • Teaching on site by Rev Willem Glashouwer
  • Swimming and beach fun in Caesarea
  • DinnerTeachings lead by C4I leaders (Willem, Harald, Marie-Louise, Andrew, John Henry)
  • Overnight near the Sea of Galilee

Day 3 – Tuesday July 5th 2016
  • Start the day with worship and prayer
  • “Leaving Nazareth, He (Jesus) went and lived in Capernaum. From that time he began to preach” (Matthew 4: 13, 17). Visit the ruins of Capernaum, the home of Jesus as well as the apostles Peter, Andrew, James and John and the tax collector Matthew. Teaching on site
  • Visit the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount Teaching on site
  • Rafting on the river Jordan
  • Dinner
  • Teaching prayer & worship
  • Overnight near the Sea of Galilee

 


Day 4 – Wednesday July 6th 2016

  • Start the day with worship, prayer
  • Small workshops lead by C4I leaders (Rev. Willem, Harald, Marie-Louise, Andrew, John Henry)
  • Visit Mount Bental overlooking the Syrian border
  • Boat ride on Sea of Galilee with worship & with short teaching
  • Drive through the Jordan valley to Jerusalem
  • Dinner
  • L'dor va'dor: From one generation to the next generation
  • Overnight in Jerusalem

Day 5 – Thursday July 7th 2016
  • Early start the day with worship and prayer
  • Drive to Samaria and meet with Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC)
  • Lookout on biblical Samaria from Mount Gerizim, the biblical Mount of Blessings. A tour through the archeological findings of the Samaritan temple on top of Mount Gerizim. An encounter with the community of the Samaritans that live on Mount Gerizim till this very day.
  • View over Ancient Sichem with the Tomb of Joseph and Jacob's well, the place known for the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman (John 4:4-42)
  • Tel Shiloh was a religious center for the Israelites even before Jerusalem: it was the place where the children of Israel brought the Tabernacle to. Visit the exposition “Until Shilo Comes”, visit the ancient excavations of the Biblical city Shilo and explore the place where the Tabernacle stood for 369 years.
  • Visit a school and talk to new immigrants 'Olim' who immigrated (made Aliyah) to Israel – meeting high-grade pupils of different countries
  • Overnight in Jerusalem

 


Day 6 – Friday, July 8th 2016
  • Start the day with worship and prayer
  • Walk through the Biblical City of David, the very roots of Jerusalem, where archeology confirms the Bible. After traversing a newly discovered tunnel connecting the City of David with the Temple Mount, emerge beneath Robinson’s Arch to discuss the place and function of the Temple in Jesus’ time
  • Visit the Davidson Center with excavations of the Herodian Temple, as it stood prior to its destruction by Roman troops in the year 70 CE.
  • Walk through the atmospheric Jewish Quarter. Visit the Western Wall, where people gather to pray and to welcome the Sabbath. Join in Sabbath prayers with many others at the Western Wall
  • Experience a Shabbat dinner at Hineni
  • Overnight in Jerusalem

Day 7 – Saturday, July 9th 2016

  • Leave very early for Masada
  • Climb up Masada, situated on the top of a mountain overlooking the desert panorama to the west and the Dead Sea to the east. The thrilling story of the site reveals the courage of the Jewish defenders of Masada and their battle against the conquering Romans
  • Float on the Dead Sea, bathing yourself in the mineral rich water and mud
  • On the way back, drive up Mount of Olives for a view over Jerusalem
  • Overnight in Jerusalem

 


Day 8 – Sunday, July 10th 2016

  • Visit to a Palestinian Baptist Church and participate in their morning service in Bethlehem
  • Time to talk with youth of the Palestinian Baptist Church
  • Visit to the Shepherds Field
  • An introduction to modern Israel and the Jewish people in Yad Vashem, Israel’s main Holocaust remembrance and education center. Visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Center including the Avenue of the Righteous and the Children’s Memorial · Reflection at the Teddy Kollek park opposite the Jaffa Gate
  • Overnight in Jerusalem

Day 9 to 12 – Monday, July 11 – Thursday July 14th 2016
  • (9:00-14:00) Volunteer work at Hineni or Jerusalem Foundation
  • 16:00-18:00 Teaching at Hineni
  • Overnight in Jerusalem

Day 13 – Friday, July 15th 2016
