Call for abstracts
The call for abstracts has now closed.

Te Rūnanga o Aotearoa (NZNO) is pleased to announce a call for abstracts for the 2015 annual Conference, Our Health, Our Right: Kia Rangatira te Tū.

The conference theme builds on last year’s theme and continues to challenge our collective responsibility to protect our right to good health and wellbeing.

We welcome your ideas, innovation and expertise. The call for abstracts has now closed..

Abstract categories
Abstracts can only be submitted in one of the following formats:

Concurrent session: papers are presented orally with the presenter being allocated a maximum of 20 minutes for presentation followed by 10 minutes for discussion and/or questions.

Poster: a visual display on a poster board of the material to be presented and may constitute an interactive session. A space will be assigned to presenters to display a poster no larger than A0 size sheet. 


Abstract submissions
The deadline for abstract submissions is midnight, 8 May 2015.
  1. The abstract must be no more than 250 words
  2. Abstracts are to be submitted online only via the abstract submission link
  3. Abstracts must be in English and/or Te Reo Māori
  4. Successful applicants will be notified by 22 May 2015  

Factors to be considered are:
  1. Contribution to nursing, knowledge, practice, systems, healthcare, delivery, health service and quality patient outcomes
  2. Relevance to conference and abstract sub-theme
  3. Clarity of abstract
  4. Interest to global health

Online submission process:
  • You will need to setup your own profile. You can save and exit at any stage through the submission process which allows you to complete it at a later date before the closing date
  • You will need your email address and password to login to your account at a later date.
  • The profile that a submission is listed under will become the main contact person for the submission, who will receive all communication relating to the submission. Communication will not be sent to co-presenters
  • All communication will be sent electronically by email
  • Once you saved your profile, you will be directed to an overview page where you can manage your submission up until the closing date.
  • Abstracts are to address one of the sub-themes
  • Abstract title is to be no more than 130 characters (approx. 20 words)Abstracts is to be no more than 1500 characters (approx. 250 words)
  • Paper presentations are to be up to a maximum of 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for discussion and/or questions and answers
  • Submissions must be submitted using the online abstract submission form
  • If you do not have the final version of your submission ready, you are able to log in and amend your submission up until the closing deadline of Friday 8 May
  • 'Save & Continue Later' – allows you to return to your submission at a later date
  • Save & Submit' – is the option you choose when your submission is complete
  • Once you have submitted your abstract, you will not be able to edit it

In case of an emergency requiring withdrawal from the programme
  • When you submit an abstract proposal, you are making a professional commitment to attend the conference if your abstract is accepted
  • If a presenter who has been accepted to the programme is not able to attend the conference, please contact the Hui organiser as soon as possible
  • While emergencies do happen, late cancellations or no shows is unfair on our members and conference attendees who have made a commitment to attend based on the inclusion of accepted abstracts to the conference programme
