Description: During this lecture course, attendees will be able to trace the history of nitrous oxide from its beginnings and its Bostonian roots to today’s contemporary uses. Recall which techniques are best for which patients, discuss trends of usage and regulation, and speculate about the future of nitrous oxide.

Learning objectives:

Be able to identify the contradictions to nitrous oxide oxygen sedation.
Be able to contrast delivery styles and their related costs.
Understand the side effects of nitrous oxide.
