Description: This lecture course will focus on the broad overview of the conceptual understanding of modern principals of endodontic therapy and will focus on the recent advancements in endodontics. At the end of this course, participants will have reviewed the changes that have taken place in endodontic care over the past five years. They should be familiar with the concepts of care in modern endodontic therapy.

Learning objectives:
  • Review endodontic concepts and the biological basis of endodontic therapy. 
  • Review the technological changes over the past decade and how they have shaped our current understanding of endodontic treatment.
  • Review the modern concepts and techniques for achieving pain control in endodontic therapy and for emergency cases.  
  • Be able to diagnosis endodontic disease.
  • Understand modern access principals. Be able to answer the question: What has changed in the past five years about our understanding of the pulpal anatomy?
  • Be able to identify and negotiate curve and calcifying canals.
  • Review the modern concepts of instrumentation and obturation.
