Description: The presentation of Liability in the Dental Practice: You Are The Judge is a program developed and presented by the Dentist’s Advantage Program. It has been designed to instruct dentists in risk management essentials through an abbreviated mock malpractice trial setting. Participants will be watching actual attorneys and a dentist participate in this mock trial. They will describe the details of an actual extraction claim that was handled by the Dentist’s Advantage claim consultants; though a number of details have been altered in order to preserve the privacy of the individuals involved. After the case is presented, the participants will be invited to judge the outcome.
Participants in this course will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the increased liability exposure created by extraction procedures
- Recognize how adequate/appropriate documentation will assist in the defense of malpractice allegations
- Help participants to appreciate the benefits of transferring risk to specialists.
