Alistair Dormer
Group CEO, Rail Systems Business Unit, Hitachi, Ltd., Senior Vice President and Executive Officer
Alistair Dormer was appointed in April 2016 Senior Vice President and Executive Officer Group CEO, Rail Systems Business Unit Hitachi, Ltd. He also holds a position as Executive Chairman & CEO of the Board, Hitachi Rail Europe, and leading Hitachi’s group of Rail related companies world-wide. Hitachi is a leading Rail Systems provider with operations in the UK/EU, Japan, China, South East Asia and South America. Alistair Dormer is also Chairman of Ansaldo STS S.p.A., Chairman of Agility Board Trains and is also holding a role as a Director of High Speed College. Alistair joined Hitachi in 2003 to establish Hitachi’s Rail business in Europe and now leads a group of over 10.000 staff with annual revenue of over 4B Euro. Alistair has over 25 years of management experience in the Defence, Aerospace and Rail sectors and a deep knowledge of the Global Rail sector. Alistair lives in the UK and is married with three school age children.
 
Andrew Collinge
Assistant Director, Greater London Authority
Andrew is a member of the Senior Management Team of the GLA. In 2013, he led on the development of the Mayor of London’s principle strategy document “2020 Vision – The Greatest City on Earth”. He is the Greater London Authority’s lead officer on the Smart City Agenda, supporting the work of the Smart London Board and driving a programme of work across a range of partnerships with business, academia and other cities. He is Director of “Sharing Cities”, one of the European Commission’s H2020 Smart Cities and Communities Programme being run across the lead cities of London, Lisbon and Milan. Andrew recently published “Data for London”, a world first strategy designed to ensure the capabilities, talents and capacity of the city data ecosystem in London have the maximum impact on the city’s social, economic and service-based challenges.  He is responsible for the London Datastore, recently recognised internationally as a winner in the Open Data Institute’s annual awards. Andrew is an Honorary Fellow at University College London (CASA) and a member of the external advisory board of the University of Warwick’s Institute of Science in Cities. He sits on the Global City Leaders Advisory Board for the World Council on City Data (WCCD). Andrew is a board member of Funding London, an organisation which through loan and equity finance supports tech and digital businesses in the capital.
 
David Hartwell
IoT and Digital Transformation Consultant, Avnet Technology Solutions
David started his career in the UK Ministry of Defence and spent 21 years in the nuclear industry primarily engineering control and safety systems for various production and experimental nuclear processes. Since leaving the MOD, he has lived and worked in various countries from China, United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Netherlands and the USA implementing engineering software solutions. He joined Avnet just over a year ago to join the then new IOT division. Previously, he was UK sales leader at IBM for the MobileFirst mobile platform products. His career has spanned engineering, project & programme management, pre-sales, business development and sales disciplines.
 
David John Brindle
Senior Vice President, Technology Solutions, Hitachi Consulting EMEA
With over twenty years of IT industry & consultancy knowledge, and a wealth of significant experience in project delivery and strategic planning as an IT consultant, David Brindle is currently the Senior Vice President of Technology Solutions for Hitachi Consulting EMEA (revenue of $60M); leading a team responsible for addressing key developments, disruptions and identifying opportunities for growth, in the ever-changing technology market. David is a member of Hitachi Consulting’s EMEA Leadership Team and as such has responsibility for helping shape the strategic direction of the Technology Solutions business in EMEA so as to facilitate the wider HCC & Hitachi transformation strategy in EMEA. David joined Hitachi Consulting in 2009 and has extensively used his delivery, program and project management experience across the Hitachi Consulting client base. With industry knowledge spanning sectors such as Government & Public Sector, Financial Services, Travel & Transportation and Telco, David’s delivery experience includes the management and delivery of numerous complex programs with revenues in excess of £10 million. Prior to Hitachi Consulting, David spent eight years at Logica, as a Practice Manager and Principal Solution Architect. David started his career with the Ford Motor Company Europe Ltd. as an Analyst, Designer and Developer.   David is a Member of the Institute of Directors and holds a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Systems and Business Management from the University of Westminster, London.
 
Dylan A. Thomas
Director (EMEA), Public Safety and Smart City Solutions, Hitachi Insight Group
Dylan A Thomas is a Public Safety & Smart City Technology specialist. Through his consultative approach and deep sector knowledge, he enables customers to capitalize on technology paradigms, such as ‘The Internet of Things’, Smart City Systems and Big Data. Dylan joined Hitachi in October 2015 in order to lead the expansion of Hitachi’s Public Safety and Smart City business in the EMEA region. Dylan works with local in country Hitachi account management teams and Global System Integrator (GSI) partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His role encompasses lead generation and qualification, conducting sales enablement programmes, responding to RFIs and RFPs, leading on bids, quotes and proposals, and performing demonstrations of Hitachi Public Safety and Smart City products and technologies to customers and partners. Prior to joining Hitachi, Dylan worked at Microsoft UK as the industry lead for Public Safety and National Security. Dylan’s background is in Military Intelligence as an Officer (Captain) in the British Army Intelligence Corps including operational service in Afghanistan, Iraq and Northern Ireland.

Lynn Collier
Chief Operating Officer, UK & Ireland, Hitachi Data Systems
Lynn Collier is the Chief Operating Officer for UK&I at Hitachi Data Systems, and is responsible for elevating the company’s focus and executing against a robust and effective partnering strategy. Lynn also focuses on leading sales enablement and productivity across both the direct and indirect routes to market. Strategic Solutions and IoT are key to the future of Hitachi as an organisation and Lynn is heavily involved in Hitachi Group initiatives to support these new business areas. Prior to this she was Senior Director of File & Content Solutions at the company, responsible for the Go-To-Market strategy for the File, Content, Converged and Big Data solutions. Before taking on this responsibility she was heavily involved in the EMEA Enterprise Platform and Software business at Hitachi Data Systems. With a special interest in Information Governance and long term content preservation, Lynn has worked closely with EMEA Legal Counsel within Hitachi Data Systems and a number of external legal specialists and solutions providers to further investigate requirements around Information Governance and regulatory support – both current and likely future trends. She is personally motivated by driving change, promoting women in technology and establishing new business frontiers.
 
Patrik Sjöstedt

Patrik Sjöstedt, based in Copenhagen, is General Manager for EMEA at Hitachi Insight Group. A global team focused on development of Internet of Things solutions and services. Patrik’s previous experience within the Hitachi Group includes EVP at Hitachi Consulting, leading Corporate Strategy development and the Operational Consulting practice. Patrik joined Hitachi through the acquisition of Celerant Consulting in 2013 where he was the CEO. Patrik started his career at Arthur Andersen and has 26 years of international experience both as a management consultant and line manager within industry in global Swedish companies like Alfa Laval and Perstorp. With experience from both sides of the “consulting table” Patrik has gained a deep understanding of both strategic business issues as well as the operational reality of running a global business. Patrik holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance & Accounting from University of Lund, Sweden and an Executive MBA from IMD, Switzerland.
 
Peter Bjørn Larsen

Peter Bjørn Larsen is the Director of the City Data Exchange in Copenhagen. The City Data Exchange is a marketplace where data suppliers and data consumers from both public and the private sector can buy and sell data. It is a central part of the smart city strategy in Copenhagen. Peter has 15 years’ experience with economic development in cities and has been working with the smart city concept for more than 6 years. He is a regular speaker at major conference and events around the world. Peter has been an involved as smart city advisor for the EU Commission, Danish Ministries, and several European cities and companies.

As Chief Digital Officer of Hitachi Europe, Ram Ramachander is responsible for developing innovative new digital solutions to support growth of Hitachi’s business in EMEA. In this role Ram focuses primarily on IoT, Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning based solutions, enabling digitisation and accelerating the achievement of Hitachi’s Social Innovation strategy. Ram has over 25 years’ experience in building fast-growth digital businesses, both in Europe and US (Silicon Valley). He has an exceptional track record in start-ups and mature companies alike, creating growth through a combination of innovative propositions, effective business development strategies and world-class operational teams. Prior to joining Hitachi, Ram founded and led two successful software companies, raising multi-million pound investment from both Silicon Valley and European investors – Greenstone Carbon Management (an energy efficiency software company) and iVeridis (a Big Data analytics, online, cleantech network).
 
Simon Francis
Commercial IoT Lead, Microsoft
Simon has held roles in Intel, System Integrators and start-up organizations. He has worked for Microsoft for 5 years and is responsible for Microsoft’s IoT business in the UK. This involves working with Enterprise customers and the partner ecosystem to create viable IoT solutions to fulfil Digital Transformation needs. In Simon’s words “I am always most interested in understanding how today’s businesses are having to evolve in order to compete and maintain their positions in the market. IoT for me is a great enabler in creating efficiencies and gaining business insights. Ultimately leading to business transformation.
 
Simon Oldnall

Simon is a director in Hitachi Consulting’s Technology Services business. He has more than 18 years’ experience working with a broad range of clients to deliver some of the largest global IT Transformation programmes for the Big 4 consulting firms and technology integrators. His hands-on experience includes working in politically sensitive and complex service-driven environments around the world, and Simon has built strong and productive relationships across a range of public sector organisations in the UK and beyond. He is currently leading Hitachi Consulting’s programme to deliver the platform that will enable Hitachi Rail Europe to transform the maintenance of the next generation of trains that will run on key routes in the UK, bringing together the best of Hitachi’s thinking and technology to deliver an innovative solution.
 
Steve Lewis

Steve has spent the last 28 years working in the Information Technology industry.  Having started out on the Engineering side (both Mechanical and Electronic), Steve has spent most of his career driving sales, marketing and business development functions.  This includes eight years at ICL/Fujitsu, 13 years at Dell, two years at Microsoft, and the last four years with Hitachi Data Systems. His experience spans a wide range of roles from Sales Management to Product/Business Management. And for both direct and channel sales. Currently Steve is the CTO for UK & Ireland and also manages the Technology Consultants.

Steve has been involved with Data, Integration and CRM since 1994 and has built and/or led a number of successful IT practices to become #1 Pivotal CRM partner in Europe and Microsoft #1 UK CRM partner, as well as being Microsoft Partner of the Year on three occasions. Much of that time has been in the media, publishing, finance and membership space, with clients including The London Stock Exchange, United Business Media, Red Letter Days, Pearson Group and The Gambling Commission. At IMGROUP, Steve works primarily in developing customer propositions around BI, IOT and Data to create intelligent systems which help their users make the best business decisions as effectively as possible.

Wael Elrifai is an avid technologist and management strategist, bridging the divide between IT and business as Pentaho's Director of Enterprise Solutions. He has been working in high performance computing, machine learning, the broader artificial intelligence field and the ‘Big Data' ecosystem for the past decade. Wael has served corporate and government clients cross North America, Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia across a number of industry verticals and has presented at conferences worldwide. With graduate degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Economics he is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the Special Interest Group for Artificial Intelligence, the Royal Economic Society, and Chatham House. Wael also serves on the boards of two charitable organisations and enjoys tinkering with ‘bleeding edge' technology, private aviation and adventure travel.
