Professor Robert Norman

Professor Robert Norman holds a personal chair as Professor for Reproductive and Periconceptual Medicine at the University of Adelaide and is a subspecialist in reproductive medicine (CREI) and in endocrine biochemistry (FRCPA). From 2008 to 2013, he was Director of the Robinson Research Institute at the University of Adelaide, an organisation that includes 60 research leaders in reproductive health and regenerative medicine, with more than 450 members. He is Co-Director of the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

His major research contributions have been in IVF and reproductive endocrinology, particularly in PCOS, and the effect of lifestyle on reproductive outcomes and periconception medicine. He is the Medical Director and an active reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist at Fertility SA. He was the President of the Asia Pacific Initiative for Reproduction Society, the Scientific Chair of ASPIRE (2014 and 2016) and is the Scientific Chair of the Fertility Society (2012 - present). He was awarded an Order of Australia (AO) in 2013. In 2015, he became a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and in the same year, was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Medicine by the University of Adelaide. He has been given the top awards of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

Professor Human Fatemi
MD, PhD
 

Professor Human Fatemi graduated in 1999 from the School of Medicine, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium, with magna cum laude. In 2005, he won the 'Pfizer Educational Grant' as best graduate fellow in gynaecology in Brussels, Belgium. In 2008, he was recognised as a subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery by ESHRE and the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (EBCOG).

During his training and more recently as a consultant, he has performed studies in various fields of gynaecology and reproductive endocrinology and surgery. In 2008, he successfully accomplished his PhD on the endocrinology of the luteal phase in stimulated and substituted cycles. Human Fatemi is the author of more than 80 internationally peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has delivered more than 200 invited spoken presentations at international conferences around the globe. In 2009, at the age of 35, he received the title of 'Clinical Professor' from the University of Brussels. Currently he is working as the Medical Director of the Middle East operations for IVI-ME in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat.


    Professor William Ledger

Professor William Ledger is the Senior Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, the Director of the Fertility and Research Centre at the Royal Hospital for Women and a fertility specialist at IVF Australia. Before moving to Sydney in 2011, he was Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Sheffield from 1999.

His research interests focus on in vitro fertilisation and assisted reproduction, impacts of reproductive ageing and disorders such as endometriosis, premature ovarian failure and polycystic ovary syndrome on fertility and quality of life, reproductive effects of cancer treatment and health economic and demographic aspects of infertility. He has published over 250 research papers and edited 11 books on various aspects of reproductive medicine.
