Idea Exchange 2017
 

Idea Exchange offers a weekend packed full of learning with opportunities ranging from lectures, to hands-on labs, to continuing education.  Our goal is to provide as much information as possible so that you are able to return to your pharmacy with new ideas and practices with a plan for implementation.

Below we have listed the objectives for each planned class or lab session.  This list may change and continuing education courses are not currently listed.  Please review the schedule page periodically for updates.

Lectures

Lectures consist of traditional classroom presentations on a variety of topics.

 

The Top 7 Reports for Beginners

Intended Audience: This class is designed for potential Computer-Rx customers and new users.

Overview: This class will discuss seven essential reports that encompass all aspects of pharmacy business and the benefits of using those reports.

Takeaway: Users will learn which reports they should be using for various aspects of their business.

 

Workflow 101: Roles and Tools

Intended Audience: This class is designed for potential Computer-Rx customers and new users.

Overview: This class will highlight the Computer-Rx workflow process, discussing the various roles, and how you can incorporate other tool into your workflow for a more efficient process.

Takeaway: Users will learn how to utilize the workflow tools within their software to create an efficient and strategic workflow process.

 

Third Party Problems? Third Party Solutions!

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system.

Overview: This class will provide instructions on resolving common claim rejections, as well as provide tips for the reconciliation process, vaccine billing, and vaccine reporting.

Takeaway: Users will learn more efficient methods for resolving claim and other third party problems.

 

Workflow Hurdles: Overcoming the Common Obstacles 

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system.

Overview: This class highlights some common workflow obstacles and the solutions to those obstacles using features with WinRx and WinScan.

Takeaway: Users will learn some of the common issues that can hold up the workflow and solutions to increase efficiency.

 

Computer-Rx Supplementary Services

Intended Audience: This class is designed for potential Computer-Rx customers and all levels of user.>

Overview: Computer-Rx offers a variety of services designed to increase your business security, create additional revenue opportunities, and improve marketing viability. This class will provide an overview of all of these services.

Takeaway: Users will learn what other services are available to them through their partnership with Computer-Rx. 

 

WinScan Mobile: Prescriptions Delivery Made Easy

Intended Audience: Potential and current WinScan users with a basic working knowledge of the system.

Overview: This class focuses on the capabilities of WinScan Mobile and how the product provides real-time delivery status to the pharmacy.

Takeaway: Users will learn basic functionality of WinScan Mobile and how it communicates with their in-store POS.

 

Bin Management Basics

Intended Audience: This class is designed for potential Computer-Rx customers and all levels of user.

Overview: This class will explore the benefits of bin management, focusing on bin assignment, will-call organization, and pharmacy use only bins.

Takeaway: Users will learn how to use the bin management features in WinRx to create a better pick-up process for their patients and a more organized workflow.

 

Labs

Labs go beyond a simple classroom presentation and give you the ability to use a workstation to follow along with the presenter's material. Spaces in these classes are limited to available workstations, so early arrival is recommended.

 

The Ins and Outs of Input

Intended Audience: Potential Computer-Rx customers and new users.
 
Overview: This lab will walk through the input process for a new prescription, a new escript, manual refill, refill from the refill queue, and an escript refill authorization.
 
Takeaway: Users will have an understanding of the process of inputting a prescription no matter the method of receipt as well as requesting more refills from the doctor.
 
 

Register Use 101

Intended Audience: Potential Computer-Rx customers and new users.
 
Overview: This lab demonstrate standard transactions through the register such as an OTC sale, Rx sale, a return, and processing an ROA payment.
 
Takeaway: Users will gain hands on experience with the basic functions that are performed by the clerk on a daily basis.
 
 

Ordering like a Pro: Creating and Confirming EDI Orders

Intended Audience: Potential Computer-Rx customers and new users.
 
Overview: This lab will walk through creating an EDI order in both WinRx and WinScan and will cover the process of receiving the confirmation of the orders.
 
Takeaway: Users will experience multiple ways to create an EDI order and how they can ensure they’re receiving the merchandise they’ve ordered.
 
 

Shipping and Tracking in WinScan

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system.
 
Overview: This lab will cover the process of creating a shipment for a transaction. It will also highlight the tracking portion of the shipment, including the various places the shipment details can be obtained.
 
Takeaway: Users will learn how easy it is to ship and tack a package, using the interface with Fedex, UPS, and USPS in their software.
 
 

Setting Up a Sensational Sync Program

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system.
 
Overview: This lab will walk through setting adherence dates or cycles on patients and initializing the prescriptions into the batch processing screen for synchronized filling.
 
Takeaway: Users will have an understanding of how to set up patients on their medication synchronization program without the use of a third party system.
 
 

Processing Sync Prescriptions like a Pro

Intended: Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system who attended the “Setting Up a Sync Program” class or already know how to set patients up on a Sync program in WinRx. 
 
Overview: The lab will show filling within the batch processing screen. It will also cover working ahead on future adherence dates to prevent filling delays due to prescriber approvals and ordering shortfalls.
 
Takeaway: Users will gain hands on experience processing sync medications for current and future dates.
 
 

GPI Ordering: Dealing With Wholesaler Substitutions

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system.
 
Overview: This lab will guide users, who have setup perpetual inventory in WinRx, through an advanced level of ordering to limit ordering multiple generic NDCs when a preferred generic is desired.
 
Takeaway: Users will learn to streamline their ordering of generics when using perpetual inventory.
 
 

MTM Documentation and Your Workflow

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the system.
 
Overview: This lab will instruct how MTM documentation and CMR case completions can be incorporated in the workflow process.
 
Takeaway: Users will learn the best way to incorporate clinical documentation into their pharmacy workflow.
 
 

Priority Prescriptions and the Label Print Queue

Intended Audience: Potential Computer-Rx customers and new users.
 
Overview: This lab will start by discussing prioritizing prescriptions during the input processing. Then, it will move into the label print queue. Users will learn how to sort and filter in the queue and use the verification process available in the label print queue.
 
Takeaway:  User will learn how to effectively utilize the label print queue throughout their workflow for a more efficient process from start to finish!
 
 

Dashboard Reports: Navigating a Sea of Rows, Columns, and Pivot Grids

Intended Audience: Current Computer-Rx users with a basic working knowledge of the reporting capabilities of the system.
 
Overview: This lab will walk through implementation of specific dashboard reports.
 
Takeaway: Users will be given hands on experience customizing dashboard reports to show specific information based on their needs.


Central Intelligence: A WinRx Central Discussion Session


Intended Audience: Current WinRx Central Users

Overview: This class will serve as an opportunity for Central users to come together and discuss how they use the WinRx central software for their multi-site pharmacy business. There will be a Computer-Rx Product Manager and a Computer-Rx Product Support Manager present to mediate discussion and answer questions.

Takeaway: Users will learn how they can better utilize their Central software by exchanging ideas with other users and speaking with Central product specialists.

How to Build an Inspired Playbook by Michael Smith

This interactive workshop is all about helping you understand the importance of an Inspired PLAYBOOK to help you and your organization accomplish cool stuff and make money doing it.

You are most likely asking yourself, so what is a PLAYBOOK and why would my organization need one?

·      First, a PLAYBOOK is a firm but flexible description of HOW an organization will use their scarce and precious resources for the highest and best use to accomplish an important goal.

Surescripts and Pharmacies Collaborate to Improve Patient Care

Care provider access to accurate, timely and complete medication information on their patients is critical to improving health outcomes; but all too often lack of interoperability makes accessing that information a challenge. Surescripts and Pharmacies are solving this problem together by driving interoperability with care providers and unlocking access to data on their patients. This partnership allows pharmacies to be more actively engaged in the healthcare community in addition to driving better patient care.
