Community Service Project Information

Join the Carolinas AGC Foundation and the CAGC Young Leaders Group as we partner with Home Works of America, Inc. to lend a helping hand to a special member of the Carolinas community.

The project will take place on Saturday, November1, in Fort Mill, SC. The exact location of the worksite will be determined by Home Works of America and will be announced closer to the project date.

FAQs

What kind of work will we do?
Tasks will include painting, basic construction work, plumbing, caulking, housecleaning, roofing, yard work, and simply talking with the home owners we are serving.

What if I have little or no experience in home repair?
As long as you come willing to help, you will have no trouble jumping into projects. There is plenty to do and, while it’s hard work, it’s also a lot of fun! There will be more experienced volunteers at each site to supervise, instruct, and assist.

What about safety?
Safety is always a priority for Carolinas AGC and its members. Every worksite has a First Aid kit, cell phones and/or walkie-talkies, safety goggles, gloves, and snacks. Participants must sign a medical release form. Medical facilities are a short distance from every site.

About Our Partner:

Home Works is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1996. Since then, more than 30,000 volunteers have joined to repair homes of and bring hope to more than 1,900 homeowners, typically individuals retired or disabled and living on less than $12,000 per year. Volunteers include youth and adults, skilled and unskilled, from a variety of backgrounds and organizations. Repairs are done at no cost to homeowners and are funded by hundreds of individual donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors. Home Works is also a United Way agency. Repairs are often done in collaboration with city and county governments.
