CONFERENCE SUBMISSIONS

Q: Do I have to be a member of the Academy to submit a proposal to an AOM Specialized Conference?

No. Submissions are open to all individuals who fulfill the requirements as outlined in the Call for Submissions. If your submission is accepted, however, you must register by the Author/Presenter Registration Deadline in order to participate in the conference.


Q: When is the deadline for conference proposal submissions?

The deadline for all conference submissions is October 3, 2017 at 11:59 PM ET (New York).


Q: What types of submissions are considered for the conference?

Three types of submissions will be accepted for this conference: Paper Proposals, Panel Symposium Proposals, and Active Learning Workshop Proposals. In line with the developmental ethos of this innovative and interactive conference, brief proposals (rather than fully developed manuscripts) are invited for consideration.


Q: How many proposals can be submitted?

A maximum of THREE proposals can be submitted as author, co-authors, workshop presenters or panelists.


Q: Will there be a conference proceedings?


Yes. Proceedings will be published for the AOM Specialized Conference on Big Data and Managing in a Digital Economy

 

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION AND ATTENDANCE


Q: When will conference registration open?

Registration for the AOM Specialized Conference on Big Data and Managing in a Digital Economy will open in early 2018.


Q: Do I have to be a member of the Academy to register for an AOM Specialized Conference?

No. Academy of Management membership is not a requirement for attending an AOM Specialized Conference.


Q: Do members of the Academy have access to a discounted rate to attend an AOM Specialized Conference?

Yes. Academy of Management members will receive a discount on their conference registration fees.


Q: Are conference participants free to participate in multiple tracks?

Yes. Registrants are free to participate in any/all track offerings. We do not envision parallel scheduling of sessions based on specific conference tracks; rather, that the conference program will provide a variety of session options (regardless of track) for attendees to choose from throughout each day.  


Q: Does the registration fee cover expenses for Active Learning Workshops?

Yes. Active Learning Workshops are available to any attendee who is registered for the conference, but pre-registration for each of these special sessions is a requirement for attendance. 


CONFERENCE SESSIONS AND EVENTS

Q: Will the conference include a Doctoral Consortium?

Yes. A Doctoral Consortium will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Details about this event will be available soon.

Q: Will the conference include receptions and evening activities?

Yes. The conference will include an opening reception (Wednesday, April 18, 2018) and a Gala Dinner (Thursday, April 19, 2018). Details about these events will be available soon.
