Travel Information

As this year's meeting has two locations, travel arrangements have been made for the trip from Stockholm to Sundsvall (see below).

Attendees should book their travel to arrive in Stockholm and depart from Sundsvall.

Stockholm -> Sundsvall
Tickets for air travel from Stockholm to Sundsvall on 24 September have been pre-booked for attendees (Price is SEK 1945 or US$ 284).  Payments for these tickets will be included in your final registration fee for those that travel to Sundsvall.   The flight departs Stockholm at 17:50 and arrives in Sundsvall at 18:35.

    TAPPI has two hotels available to choose from in Stockholm, the Grand Hotel and the Scandic Sergel Plaza.

    1. Grand Hotel - Location of the Wallenberg Prize Ceremony and Symposium

    The second half of the 2014 IRMC meeting will take place in Sundsvall, Sweden. Airport transportation in Stockholm and Sundsvall will be provided for travel from Stockholm to the Sundsvall hotel location.

    Traveling to Stockholm
     
    Airport: Stockholm International Airport is called Arlanda (ARN)
     
    How to get from Arlanda Airport to Stockholm
     
    Arlanda Express and the Metro (T-bana): (see https://www.arlandaexpress.com/default.aspx?page=3 ) fastest way to get to town – trains leave from below the center of Arlanda terminal (Sky City)  every 15 minutes and takes 20 minutes to the central railway station with no stops.  Cost is about $30 USD compared to about $80 USD for a taxi. From the Stockholm Central Railway Station, take the Metro (stations are marked with a ‘T’ for tunnelbana) Blue Line 11 to the Kungsträdgården T-bana stop. The Grand Hotel is 180 meters from the station, a two minute walk. 
     
    Airport Bus: leaves every 15 minutes from in front of the international terminal (5) and costs about $15 USD.



     Travel Visa Information 
    ENTRY / EXIT REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS: Sweden is a party to the Schengen Agreement. This means that U.S. citizens may enter Sweden for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes with a valid U.S. passport, without obtaining a visa.
