9:15 am - 10:00 amWireless LAN Infrastructure: 2014 & Beyond
Craig Mathias, Network World Contributor and Principal, Farpoint Group

Building a cost-effective, high-performance, and scalable Wi-Fi infrastructure is one of the great challenges facing enterprise IT today. This session will explore the strategies, options, and technologies available now and over the next few years, as well as the key application demands that will influence the evolution of enterprise infrastructure going forward.

10:00 am - 10:30 amIncreasing Your Wi-Fi Rate and Range Without Going Broke or Crazy
GT Hill, Director of Technical Marketing, Ruckus Wireless
As more users hit the network with more devices and data-hungry applications, the bandwidth requirements for a enterprise Wi-Fi are skyrocketing.  As a result, Wi-Fi for the enterprise is no longer a luxury.  It's a non-negotiable necessity.  This presentation will discuss recent advances in Wi-Fi technology that help to increase the rate, range and reliability of Wi-Fi signals -- particularly with changing and challenging environments.  Join as as we explore topics including: dynamic channel selection, dealing with density, the impact of 802.11ac, mitigating interference, and delivering consistent performance at long ranges.
10:30 am - 11:00 amNetworking and Refreshment Break
11:00 am - 11:30 amA Wireless Roadmap for 250,000 Users and Growth
Dr. Curtis A. Carver, Jr., Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer, Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia

With more than 250,000 students generating 50 million hits a day across 42 terabytes of content and 160,000 courses, the University System of Georgia's learning system is no stranger to the need for high-performance wireless infrastructure. Providing a private cloud serving other state agencies, including the Georgia Department of Education's 189 school districts and 1.6 million students, means that the university system must provide the best available wireless strategy and technologies. Join us to learn how they do it.

11:30 am - 12:00 pmMoving Beyond Speeds and Feeds: What's Your Wi-Fi Network Worth?
Steve Brar, Manager, Global Product & Solution Marketing, HP

The role of the network is transforming as organizations adapt to new trends across the cloud, big data, security and mobility.  New technologies like IEEE 802.11ac are enabling improved Wi-Fi client densities and faster connectivity — now with wired performance available over the wireless LAN.  While Wi-Fi technology is advancing, the role of the network is also shifting. The network isn’t just to solely provide connectivity and plumbing between devices, but is now an enabler of the business.  Join us to understand and learn how HP Networking can unlock the business value of your Wi-Fi network with new SDN-enabled innovations and location-based services.

12:00 pm - 1:15 pmNetworking Lunch with Hosted Discussion Tables
  • Simplify with SDN-enabled Unified Wired & Wireless Networks - HP
  • An Insider's View of 802.11ac - Ruckus Wireless
  • Simplifying the Complexity of Wireless Deployments - Xirrus
1:15 pm - 1:45 pmWireless Infrastructure at Turner Broadcasting
James Robertson, Vice President of Technology Infrastructure and Broadcast Transmissions, Turner Broadcasting

With a global footprint, and key offices across the United States, Turner Broadcasting has unique requirement for wireless infrastructure that require planning for future growth. Join us to hear more about it..

1:45 pm - 2:15 pmWith Another 4 Million Devices Activated Every Day, is Your Enterprise Wi-Fi Ready?
Perry Correll, Xirrus , Principle Technologist

Mobile enterprise challenges are mounting. We must now enable users simple and secure access to the network, ensure applications run smoothly, and build sufficient capacity to handle unpredictable usage and future growth. Yet a recent Gartner report states that “by 2015, 80% of newly installed wireless networks will be obsolete because of a lack of proper planning.” Moreover, a typical wireless user is provisioned with less than 5% of the bandwidth of a typical wired user. To address this properly, Wi-Fi optimization requires designing for the user, device, application, spectrum and capacity. This session will examine critical design components to ensure predictable performance, even under heavy loads.

2:15 pm - 3:00 pmFrom the Trenches Panel Discussion: Wireless Infrastructure Done Right
Dr. Curtis A. Carver, Jr., Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer, Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia
Kenneth Foster, Director of IT Operations and Support, Rollins, Inc.
Stefano Pirrello, Network Team Leader, CareerBuilder.com
James Robertson, Vice President of Technology Infrastructure and Broadcast Transmissions, Turner Broadcasting
Craig Mathias, Network World Contributor and Principal, Farpoint Group
GT Hill, Director of Technical Marketing, Ruckus Wireless

The best enterprise advice often comes from those with real-world experience and a story to tell. In this moderated panel discussion, IT practitioners will compare notes on their latest "last mile" efforts inside corporate facilities and campuses -- as well as the wired improvements they're making to meet their organizations' expanding needs.

3:00 pm - 4:00 pmWorkshop: Deploying 802.11ac
Craig Mathias, Network World Contributor and Principal, Farpoint Group

While the new 802.11ac standard is clearly the future of organization wireless LAN infrastructure, a variety of deployment options are available to meet essentially every requirement and consideration. This workshop will dig into each of these in depth, examining the alternatives and helping attendees to refine their .11ac plans.

4:00 pmRecap, Takeaways and Closing Remarks
