Financial Times Live, in partnership with the Government of Bulgaria, were pleased to present ‘Investing in Bulgaria’. This inaugural event series, sponsored by the EU, took place between November 2012 and March 2013 and looked at the region’s economic prospects, key areas of growth and emerging opportunities.
In recent years, Bulgaria has made substantial progress in creating a favourable investment climate. With a stable political and regulatory environment, attractive tax regime and one of the most competitive costs of labour in Central and Eastern Europe, Bulgaria is determined to realise its full potential as an investment destination.
The country’s sound macroeconomic fundamentals, strategic location and membership to the EU, combined with new programmes and incentives already put in place, make Bulgaria an advantageous location for businesses looking to invest and grow.
Corporations from each local market were able to discover the most promising opportunities for establishing or expanding their operations in Bulgaria.

The series got off to a very successful start in Europe at the end of 2012. From February 2013 we continued to visit key investment locations, this time across the US and Asia, bringing together senior policy makers, experts and business leaders from Bulgaria and abroad who delivered insightful discussion and topical debate.
