Why the Omni?
While we realize that CSMG registration and hotel costs are not insignificant, like all such conferences they would be even higher if we could not assure our hotel that a large percentage of participants will stay in the conference hotel. Here are a few more good reasons to stay at the Omni during CSMG 2020.

  • Easy access to Metro rail aids transportation and the effectiveness of our advocacy with Congress.
  • The Omni cooperates with our on-line registration option to facilitate room sharing to make the conference as affordable as possible.
  • Many excellent and affordable dining options are located within easy walking distance.
  • Our location at the edge of Rock Creek Park makes it easy to get a moment for quiet reflection or fresh air to keep you going through all of the programs and important work of the Gathering.
  • The Omni Shoreham is consistent with our mission and commitment to providing a just and living wage to its employees, and allows them to organize in unions.

TRAVEL TIPS

We encourage participants to fly into/out of one of the 3 DC-area airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).

CSMG attendees flying into Dulles (in northern Virginia) or Baltimore (in Maryland) can get to and from DC via cab, shuttle, train, or rental car. Ronald Reagan National Airport is also serviced by Metrorail on the blue and yellow lines, while Dulles (IAD) is a short bus ride from Metrorail on the silver line, and Baltimore/Washington (BWI) is serviced by Amtrak and MARC rail lines.

The gathering officially kicks off with our Opening Keynote presentation on Saturday, January 25th at 3:00 p.m. However, prior to that, there will be optional, pre-meetings and special events on the morning of Saturday, January 25th. Also, if you are new to CSMG, don’t miss the orientation session for first-time participants at 1:30 p.m. Arrive early and jump start your professional networking to make the most of your CSMG experience. Gatherings for participants in the Young Leaders Initiative and Diversity Outreach Initiative will begin at 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., respectively.

CSMG 2020 will conclude at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28th following our Capitol Hill reception and the culmination of our time together – our advocacy visits with members of Congress.

Please note: As part of our commitment to care for God’s creation, we will not be utilizing plastic, single-use water bottles at CSMG. Please plan to bring your own, re-fillable water bottle. Water bottle re-fill stations will be available throughout the Gathering.
