All Social Events can be purchased on this website during registration, there will also be tickets available for purchase onsite during check-in.  We do caution you though that many of these events are very popular, and may sell out quickly, so reserve your seats ahead of time!!

  • Sunday, August 3rd - Welcome Reception
    To be held on the Atrium Level (Main Lobby) in the 13 Views Lounge from 5:30pm-8:00pm.  Drinks and appetizers will be served.  Each registered guest will have two complimentary drink tickets in your registration packets.

  • Monday, August 4th - Young Researcher Mixer
    Event will be held downtown at Jillian's located in the Metreon building at 175 Fourth Street in San Francisco.  The Mixer is open to Early Career Professionals, Post Docs, and Students.  The event will be hosted from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  Food and drinks are included.  For more information regarding Jillian's, view their website at http://www.jillianssf.com/.  If you have any further questions regarding attendance or about the program, please feel free to reach Godfrey Mongal at mgmungal@scu.edu.

  • Tuesday, August 5th - Women in Combustion Coffee Break
    This is open to the Women of combustion.  The coffee break will serve drinks and snacks on the Bay View level, in the Golden Gate conference room.  For more information, please contact Janet Ellzey at jellzey@mail.utexas.edu.

  • Tuesday, August 5th - Music Concert
    This year's performance will pay tribute to Jazz.  The concert will take place in the Miner Auditorium at the SFJAZZ CENTER located at 201 Franklin Street, San Francisco.  For more information regarding SFJAZZ, view their website

  • Wednesday, August 6th - Awards Banquet
    Let this be a night to remember.  The California Academy of Sciences will play host to this year's award banquet.  Explore the many sights and sounds of the academy while dining and relaxing with your colleagues.  The museum is open before and after the banquet for your entertainment.  Buses will be leaving the Hyatt Embarcadero (conference hotel), and will return you to one of the three hosted hotels.  The museum is open exclusively to the Combustion Institute ticket holders from 6:30pm-10:30pm.  Please view their website for more information http://www.calacademy.org/.

  • Thursday, August 7th - Picnic Cruise
    Take in the fantastic views aboard the 292 foot sternwheeler called the San Francisco Belle.  Enjoy an afternoon/early evening cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge, around Alcatraz "The Rock", and under the Bay Bridge to see San Francisco in a unique way.  Dinner, drinks, and entertainment will be provided.  Boarding is located just across the street from the Hyatt at Pier 3.  Boarding will begin PROMPTLY at 4:00pm.  Don't be left behind.  http://www.hornblower.com/
